...as a former officer ... I saw this alot in the upper echelon of commissioned officers ... the boys club of “I’m about to retire - after serving over my retirement years - I deserve to be taken care of” mentality ... which means, anyone who threatens that - I will vote against!

Trump is a soldier’s president — it’s about everyone - not just the top commanders...

Who cares what mission he was over & what his opinion is — the men who actually did it - they are the ones who lead to that success — and not let us forget the CIA analyst who was mocked and ridiculed — she’s the one that directly lead to his death!

You're like me. I was an MP officer that resigned my commission as an O-3P. I had many occasions to formally brief senior (sometimes very senior) officers on law and order operations, stats, security planning, etc., as well as to engage them in informal conversations at various events.

This was mostly during the very risk-averse Clinton era, and while one might have expected them to lean towards being zero tolerance control freaks regarding management of their commands, this all too often spilled over into their personal politics as well, believing that the American people, like their soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines, needed to be led with a firm hand, being told what was for their own good.

Of course, their post-retirement plans also hinged to a great degree on government largesse to the contractors and think tanks on which they were going to cash in.
