BTW, I knew a guy in college (not too smart) who believed that it was illegal to put anyone in prison if they had not confessed. I think he had watched too much "Perry Mason" in which someone in the courtroom would always jump up and confess in the last few minutes because of Perry Mason's amazing lawyer skills. So, my friend felt that he was absolutely never going to go to prison for anything -- because he just would never confess.
In point of fact, confessions, like concessions are not required.
