Democrat presidential nominee Joe Bidens proposed gun control policy includes a provision that could require every AR-15 rifle be registered under the National Firearms Act of 1934. Unless there were some form of carve-out, this could mandate that American gun owners pay a $200 federal tax per AR-15 that they own. The National Rifle Associations Andrew Arulanandam told Breitbart News that the current low end estimate of privately-owned AR-15s in the United States is 18 million. A tax of $200 on 18 million AR-15s means that gun owners could potentially be required to a pay a collective $3.6 billion in taxes, if this policy were enacted into legislation.
That figure does not even consider other guns that might be deemed assault weapons by Democrats, which could also fall under the same provisions of the National Firearms Act.
In addition to the $200 tax, owners of guns that are deemed assault weapons, under Bidens view of the NFA, could also be required to register these weapons with federal authorities, submit their finger prints and photograph, and potentially submit to an FBI background check.

Gee, and mine just sunk to the bottom of the lake while fishing yesterday afternoon. Sorry, Joe, tell your Gestapo to learn to swim.
They might as well make a tax-law that says any idiot with more than one toilet in the house...needs to pay $50 a year for each extra toilet. Same logic to prevent over-toileting in America.
Seems like this taxation gimmick looks a lot like the 1773 tea tax, and we know how the Tea Party event went down.
Sorta looks like a bill of attainder, doesn’t it?
Usually, a bill of attainder is done without a judge ever standing over you, and it’s a automatic ‘got-you’ situation.
One problem with this...you couldn’t accomplish the tax unless you had a registration of people and registration of guns. This might be a bit more difficult to accomplish because of this fact.
Considering more people are killed by knives each year, than AR-type weapons...maybe there should be a knife tax as well, and people pay $25 for each knife? (sarcastically spoken)
Paid cash years ago. State does not register guns. How would they even know who has what?
Here in the people’s republic of Maryland, AR lowers were registered with the State Police before they put in the last batch of anti-gun legislation in about 2013. The lowers have serial numbers.
Now, AR-15 sales are illegal in the State of MD, ‘for the children.’
Doesn’t matter if you paid cash.
If you can not take it out and use it.
Some one some where will be willing to sell you out.
Ever told anybody oh you just told millions.
Ever search or commented on the net you might have one.
Ever brought thing related to having one with a credit card.
Oh, I sold those weapons when the pandemic hit and I lost my job. I needed the money to feed my family. Who? Some guy I met via the internet. Armslist? Facebook? I don’t recall.
The Biden government is going to accomplish exactly nothing with this.
Id love to pay the tax but all of mine were lost in a tragic boating accident years ago.
So sorry.
Mmmm..... No.
L
That the results are going to be what they expect?
AR-14s are exempt.
Lost it in the lake with no GPS. I guess Biden will just have to KISS MY ASS.
I will not comply.
Hear ye, hear ye, hear ye. This is a formal invitation to the annual Free republic fishing tournament. Starting November 4th all freepers should head to the nearest body of water and commence their fishing activities. You should come heavily armed with plenty of ammo since those fish can get pretty big. Don’t forget to bring all of your family and friends because we are a social organization. Death to tyrants, slow death to traitors!
If you think it’s time to bury your guns, it’s probably time to dig them up.
No thanks, you drooling urine-soaked Depends-crapper.
