I think it’s more psychological or social than legal, at least in most places. The young persons have been persuaded that Good People are terrified of Covid and that wanting to do any normal-life things with others is Selfish, and We Can’t Be That.
However, the Powers That Be declared that protesting “racism” was even more virtuous than being terrified of Covid.
You are correct. I have immense respect for the greatest generation but they had it so hard that they wanted everything for the kids.
And everything is never good.
