After watching the voter Q&A portion of NBC's town hall event Thursday with President Trump, I'm wondering if there's a way for Trump to go ahead and skip the third debate as well. But only if he can replace it with another town hall that has no Savannah Guthrie.
Actually, it would be best if there were no self-important TV journalist to pipe up at all to give his or her two cents on something nobody outside of Washington honestly cares about.
The first half of the town hall was completely worthless as it was filled with Guthrie asking when had Trump most recently tested negative for COVID-19 before he tested positive two weeks ago; and why did you owe a relatively low amount of federal taxes four years ago; and will you disavow the obscure online group called "QAnon"?....These are topics that tickle journalists in Washington and put everyone else to sleep.
What the voters who finally got to speak wanted to know was why hadn't Trump done more to stop the spread of the coronavirus, how would he further repair the economy in a second term, and when is the next round of stimulus coming for people who watched their dreams slip away because they were told by the government to shut down?
Those are important questions, and Trump, the president, actually has things to say about them. If only voters were allowed to ask, then we might be able to hear it.

Guthrie repeatedly tried to paint Dr. President Trump into a corner and Trump repeatedly tromped across the floor and kicked the paint bucket into Guthrie’s face.
Savannah should be divided into fractions.
She was a shrill, out-of-control idiot, trying to make it all about Herself.
She was comical.
She was badgering with meaningless question, but Trump was cool, calm collective while he shut her down.
She should have been drug tested. And a shower wouldn’t have hurted either.
Trump could invite someone like Hugh Hewitt to do a real Town Hall.
Hugh Hewitt is center-right and is not a NeverTrumper. He is a great interviewer and moderator.
It would be great TV and something different.
I think Rush should do it, and open it up that he is going to show all the liberal jounalist hacks how debate moderation is done! We had 2 libs, and had a potential of a Biden BFF as a debate moderator. Time to purge libs and put in a conservative moderator, sice the libs have a record of 0 and 2 and suck!
Guthrie was unbelievably rude and interruptive, but Pres. Trump shined thru and connected with the audience, especially the black woman with the red mask sitting behind him!
Those questions were clearly scripted (probably by Fox News’s Chuck Wallace) and Guthrie had a follow-up for every single one before Dr. President Trump even finished answering.
She really wasted a lot of time
Literally no one cares about Q Anon or Trump’s loans. We care about the fact that our schools ARE STILL CLOSED and our kids are turning into rotting vegetables alone in their dark rooms. Very sad.
My son does not get a high school senior year. No sports, no drama, no band, no Homecoming, no getting to be “The big man on campus,” no prom, no graduation—nothing.
Not a single question about that. Only. . .QAnon satanic pedophiles and Trump’s business loans? Whatever.
I miss the real town hall debates, that we had in prior elections. When the moderator was silent.
Yeah, the first half was sub-par, but how she treated President Trump was just the way I want media to treat ALL candidates- tough and challenging.
Challenging him gave the President a chance to shine.
He won new voters tonight- thanks to her challenging him.
Wish Dems were challenged by the media sometimes. It wouldn’t be to their advantage though.
I like the woman who was behind President Trump’s left shoulder. She gave the President a thumbs up over his closing remarks and gave him a big over the head clap at the end of the townhall.

My evidence? She said one questioner was "stuck in traffic" but they conveniently had a picture of the questioner.
It was her turn to jump on the grenade. there are thousands of newsbabes lined up to take her job if she didn’t go all out. Hope it was worth it for her.
That was her hole purpose. Do anything and everything to keep Dr. President Trump from enumerating his accomplishments and Sleepy Joe Biden’s corruption.
Hugh is a clown. Lost his prime time slot to Mark Levin. He still refuses to stop denigrating the best producer on radio, Duane Patterson, with his interminable retort of “if I only had a producer.” The same joke gets old after a couple of years. Sure he’s a Christian, but lost all respect for the guy. Hugh needs a little humility, which he got and still doesn’t realize it.
