A 45-year-old British man has lost his hearing in one ear after catching the coronavirus prompting experts to warn that the deadly bug may cause permanent deafness among some patients, according to reports. The man whose only underlying medical condition was asthma was referred to an otolaryngologist when he experienced the hearing loss after being treated for COVID-19 at a hospital, The Sun reported. I lost the hearing in my left ear twenty years ago (with loud tinnitus). Doctors say it was probably a virus.
If one person gets gets it twice, it makes headlines “Not necessarily immune after Covid-19”.
If a small handful out of millions of infections gets permanent lung damage “Covid leads to permanent lung damage”.
If one 18 year old morbidly obese woman with numerous co-morbidities dies “Young people die from Covid”.
And now after ONE case where a man loses hearing in one ear “Covid can lead to permanent hearing loss”.
Fine. Now, where are the headlines from individual outliers who catch a disease that a vaccine was supposed to stop after vaccination. Or someone who suffers permanently from same? Or the natural consequences of unnatural sexual acts despite using a condom? Or even “Everyone in room wears masks, Covid spreads anyway”?
Most prescriptions with millions of takers have a LONG list of possible (that means observed in SOMEbody) side effects, from “birth control” pills to statins to anti-depressants to ibuprofen. You never read of those in headlines, they are buried in 4 point Helvetica type in a drug insert or at the bottom of a print ad, or spoken in passing very quickly during a television ad.
I had a coworker who caught a cold, and it spread to his ear, and 3 days later, he was deaf. It happens. It’s sad.
Every body dies from the covid so why does this matter? /sarcasm
I lost it from a few million gunshots and had a lot more fun.
