My county, Fresno, just moved from purple to red two weeks ago and will very likely move back to purple again this week. Churches and restaurants that opened for indoor dining will close once again. The reason? Fresno didn’t test enough people and as a penalty, the state increased the positivity rate to 7.2 per 100,000, just above the 7.0 per 100,000 needed to stay in the red.
From what I have read u.s. deaths per day averages about 7700. I think we are now averaging about 500-600 day with Covid associated deaths...not really sure if covid associated deaths would have occurred anyway with an “average” non-covid 19 cold or influenza instead of covid 19.
Do you have a hangnail? if you have a hangnail you definitely have COVID!

It’s prudent advice for those at risk. Or those who have frequent close contact with those at risk.
But for everyone? Not necessary.
As far as I can tell, even here in Norcal, nobody pays much heed to strict “guidelines”.
Rioters are exempt from all of this stuff because Rioters are Royalty.
It is amazing the peons can’t learn to just eat cake like they are supposed to...

Prudent advice is one thing but the problem is the ‘Enforcement’ these guidelines may open up the door to. CA has already done a number on churches and establishing a threatening posture.
He should deliver those lines in the accent of Hogan’s Heroes’ Colonel Wilhelm Klink.
Authoritative. Showing leadership. Maybe have the helmet but add the Seal of the State of California and Governor to it.
As it stands, he knows nothing. Nothing.
Funny. Unsanitary but funny. It IS California, though. San Francisco was way ahead in that area.
Other alternative: Try to hold it until you reach Nevada.

Public health authorities in California have unveiled a “Blueprint for a Safer Economy” that requires counties to meet new “health equity metrics” in order to emerge from the current Covid-19 lockdowns.
It’s a broad experiment in social justice. Under the plan, counties must reduce “disparities in levels of transmission” in “low-income, Black, Latino, [and] Pacific Islander” communities before they can move forward with reopening. In effect, local businesses must remain closed until local bureaucrats are satisfied that ill-defined racial quotas have been met.
The underlying assumption of the blueprint is that race-based coronavirus disparities are the result of “systemic racism,” despite zero evidence that the state’s coronavirus policies have been discriminatory.
The plan ignores potential differences in culture, behavior, and underlying health, resting instead on the premise that racism is the driving force behind every disparate outcome.
The blueprint also subverts the democratic process. Unelected public health officials are restricting essential freedoms, including mobility, worship, and economic activity, without deliberation by the state legislature or the possibility of review or appeal.
Unfortunately, the California blueprint is just part of a broader pattern of state governments using public health as a rationale for seizing power.
Throughout the pandemic, blue-state politicians have appealed to science as justification for long-term economic lockdowns, mask mandates, and other emergency measures, regardless of whether these policies have been sanctioned by state legislatures or voters. Science becomes the highest authority; citizens must obey.

No viral treatments for anyone just sent home. Our doctors and hospitals are risk averse money machines. Covid yes send the bill to the government.
