The author also said “opinion ledes.” FR needs a spellchecker more than ever.
Up here in Scottsdale, Im seeing someone writing FU on a Republican incumbent for local office.
On a sign or on the actual candidate??
The Big Lebowski:
I just want to understand this, sir. Every time a rug is micturated upon in this fair city, I have to compensate the owner?
Never saw that movie.........
Right now the Left, in all its forms, feels emboldened. Rioters have no fear of consequences, Democrat Senators and Congressmen show huge disrespect to the President, and the mainstream media dutifully reports the lies and hoaxes (while also being hugely disrespectful to the President). When a wild animal loses its fear of humans, problems always follow. The Left has lost all fear of any consequences, and we’re seeing the results. I pray that decent, God-fearing Americans are paying attention.
The usage feels slightly askew, basically mixing a gritty word, “foxhole” with a word, “micturate” that would be more at home in a description of someones medical condition. It reminds me of old SNL skits about Mike Tyson using big words. Regardless of the motivation and awkwardness micturate could come in handy during the next Scrabble match, and building ones vocabulary is a good use of time at any age...
I don’t play Scrabble and “piss” is easier to say...;^)
You got to remember...I’m just an old “Hillwilliam”...
Northeast Texas has the largest Trump sign occurrences ever.....around Mount Pleasant and Pittsburg and Gilmer
Everywhere
Former Dixiecrat first wave oil boom strongholds
Thank you John Tower and Storm Thurmond and Trent Lott and Jesse Helms

Without the former Dixiecrat south gone Pubbie after the Dems went culture war left
This nation would have been toast long ago
We have a bunch of deer living in our neighborhood. People give them treats all the time and they have almost completely lost their fear of people. Yesterday, two small bucks were sleeping in our front yard when we got home. We boxed one of them in when we pulled in the driveway. So I backed up a bit and sat their for a moment, but he just stood there looking at me. I got out of the car and hearded him away from the front door, he acted more like a wayward little steer than a deer. Because he didn't run off; he kept his distance but he was watching me like he thought I might have a carrot for him.
Then the two bucks started pushing each other around our yard with their horns locked because it is rutting season. My parents showed up in the evening and the two were still hanging around. The deer are basically tame, but skittish enough that they could still hurt someone. I am a little surprised that no one around here or a dog has not been injured in the last few years that I know of.
You know what a “Hillwilliam” is????
It’s a “Hillbilly” with a college education...;^)
I grew up on acreage with an assortment of farm animals and fiddling with old tractors and farm trucks so I may resemble that remark. I am more comfortable and in general respect country folk more than city people who think that they are smarter than those who can actually do for themselves.
My wife is a military historian and belongs to groups that drive old military vehicles in parades, etc... One of her acquaintances who is a nice guy, an actual veteran in his 50s and seems to be an expert on everything was complaining to her about how he got ripped off on a WWII ambulance that he was trying to start and told her it always ran like crap until it warmed up. He was turning it over while he had his son spray a contiuous stream of starting fluid into it. She asked him why he wasn't using the choke. He replied, “What is a choke?”
“What is a choke?”...ROFL...Evidently, he’d never driven anything old or any farm equipment...The back edge of my mom and dad’s farm was the border of the Great Smoky Mtns Nat’l Park...I know just what you mean about the comfort of country people....
I would not be too complacent about the outcome of this election. I live in a very conservative area, and I am seeing Biden/Harris (i.e., “Gropin’ Joe and the Ho’”) signs in huge numbers.
One time we got a call to assist the police with two cows that had kicked open the rear door on the trailer that they had been riding down the freeway in. Miraculously they were not seriously injured when they fell out. They had taken refuge in the brush and black berry bushes behind a Denny's Restaurant. One of them had given itself up before we arrived. The other was munching on whatever greenery it could find.
When we arrived there were police cars everywhere. The guy who was in charge came over and said that they needed one of our ladders so that a sharp shooter from their SWAT team could get a good shot at the cow. I said let me find a bucket and some gravel and I will get that cow back into the trailer.
He replied, “NO! It's too late for that! This is a dangerous wild range cow!”
I went over and talked to the lady who had been hauling the cows while my officer and the 3rd man provided the ladder the police had requested. She said that the cows were her neighbor kids' 4H projects and that they had been raised on the 2 acres behind their house.
The police shot the cow about 10 times with .223 bullets before it finally fell over and died. It was very sad and cruel. I hope that no one ever told the girl that raised it what happened to her pet 4H cow. I am sure that she would have been heart broken.
Just DAMN!!!!!!
There was no need at all for that....
Deer are very adaptable...Suburban building takes away a lot of their habitat, so they adjust...
Just DAMN!!!!!!
There was no need at all for that....
I am sorry to have gone off on a tangent in this thread. I sensed a kindred spirit especially after your remarks about Hillwilliam.
