If Senator Harris Wants to Play the 1864 Game...
Posted on 10/08/2020 5:06:12 AM PDT by cotton1706
Chief Justice Roger Taney died on October 12, 1864.
Lincoln nominated a successor on December 6th.
The Senate confirmed on December 6th.
Same Day.
So let's skip the hearings and have a vote, Senator Harris.
Also keep in mind that presidents, senators and congressmen were sworn in in March then. So the Senate at the time would have confirmed anyway.

HARRIS response to everything in the debate: FEAR, FEAR, FEAR — LIES LIES LIES -— then more FEAR — talked around the question asked — and used rapid eye blinking to deflect the truth.

I think she is saying she would like Chief Justice Taney back. That could be accommodated.

Those that don't know history are doomed to repeat it
First as a farce
Then as a tragedy.

I was just mocking Harris when she said the same thing to Pence.
The info is accurate and important.

cyclotic: "Stop with the little history lesson."
Mr.K (You): "This was good info- whats wrong with it?" You're not current on the debate, Senator Harris is the one who used this little history lesson to preface her Lincoln example. Proper background demonstrates her 'history lesson' demonstrates nothing in their favor!

Those that don't know history are doomed to repeat it ... Really? You mis-paraphrase Karl Marx? You use their leading light against them? Good show!

I ignored anything she said that was canned like her 1864 line. There was an easy tell, she laughed. She even laughed when she gave "condolences" for Kayla.

Should point out that that departed justice had been even more consequential than RBG. Taney was the Chief Justice who wrote Dred Scott. Which we were then undergoing a Civil War to attempt overturning.
