Excuse the french, but as my daddy used to say, “Mother Nature is a bitch”.
From the experienced hunter who recently was mauled by a “dead” coyote he had shot when putting a leash over its head to drag it away when it “woke” up, to fires, to being under an overpass the moment an earthquake pancakes it, to a tiny bite from a tick or a mosquito, to a man made virus that can become a part of the everlasting landscape of disease, earthquakes, floods and standing on the rim of a semi dormant volcano right as it blows.

The earth has had its life altering cataclysms, thousands and thousands of times. The length of human time here is so puny it is folly to think we really know anything about frequency or predictability. A few days early warning for the major events will be meaningless. And really major, life shattering natural events are going to occur. If you live your life without living through one, time wise, it is a non measurable statistical blip of absolutely no natural importance. Nature us going to eradicate life or substantially change it with forces far beyond our efforts to remediate the consequences as she pleases.

Strangely, despite our science and unicorn belief that we are or can be in control (i.e. if we just wear masks), the futility of our efforts brings us closer to the beliefs of our ancestors who faced death way earlier than us in more terrible ways with the simple phrase, “It is in God’s hands”.

To be scrupulously honest, there IS a phenomenon known as "Laser Cooling" -- the most common form of which is Doppler Cooling".

However, it is constrained to operating on minuscule quantities of atoms of a single, specific element -- near absolute zero temperature. The laser(s') frequency must be tuned to just below a specific electron transition level.

Basically, the velocity of an atom traveling away from the laser is not reduced -- but the velocity of an atom moving toward the laser is reduced by a tiny amount. Thus, since temperature is a function of atomic/molecular velocity, the "slowed" atom is "cooled" slightly.

Practically, the effect does not work at the molecular level, so my original proscription on removing heat via an energy beam still holds -- "in the real world"...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just keepin' it honest... '-)
Reducing the solar wind should make it harder for cosmic rays to penetrate. The solar wind deforms the Earth’s magnetic field, “pushing” it away from the Sun and thinning it on the Sun side.
Cascadia would take out Vancouver BC, Seattle, Portland and part of NorCal - everything west of I-5. Cascadia subduction would trigger the San Andreas slipfaults which will take out SFO/Bay Area down to LA. Odds right now are 1 in 10. Life in the fast lane.
Directed Energy Weapons work great in space. There is little to interfere with the beam. They’re not as great in air. Things like clouds, humidity, dust, and haze can deflect and diffuse the beams. In dirt, they just don’t go very far.
Directed energy weapon. DEW Line was 1960’s stuff. They are recycling the acronyms now. I guess we are obsolete. Ha ha.
I am not going to watch this video, but does it say who is targeting this energy weapon?
There are absolutely building codes in place. At least for stuff build in the last 100 years.
Architects can read history.
Re: Beams in NW and fires.
I started watching Dutchsince when my daughter lived in that area. If you watch the USGS shake maps, sometimes there would be 'exposions' noted on the map around seismic areas. They would ne large enough to register as a quake. However, when Dutch would zero in on the location using a Google map, nothing would be there but forestland or a subdivision. Strange.
Old unreinforced masonry buildings in cities like Cape Girardeau, St. Louis, Paducah and Memphis are the worry. Newer buildings are governed by the International Building Code and it’s strict seismic standards.
If you watch the update there were two beams connecting in the upper Midwest. It was yellowish and radiated towards the Ohio River basin.
But is it a a US Navy map. Drawn by a third grader. I am not sure what it has to do with the New Madrid Fault. It looks more like globull warming propaganda about where sea level will be after Antarctica melts. Minus the Basin and Range Province.
I usually see it associated with globull warming.
It made the Mississippi run backwards for a short time too.
I live in Missouri, oh boy.
There is nice rest area on south bound I57 in the southeast corner of Missouri that has a very good display about the New Madrid earthquake (New Madrid is in the area).
The lobby floor is a map of the area showing the epicenter of each quake by a number and the location. The benches in the lobby have numbers on them with the date/time of strength of that earthquake.
The wall of the lobby has a whole display of the history of the series (it lasted several months) along with a nationwide map of current seismic sensor mapping.
The walk to the entry to the building is lined with lights in the form of seismic sensors. I believe there are 3 sensors on site.
Very neat, and quite informative, if only you would pay attention.
Some of those maps have me underwater but some have me with waterfront property which would be kinda cool if I didn’t die during the event.
Our house/cabin is on stilts aka a pole building. Maybe I should start collecting plastic drums to put under it. The poles aren’t very deep in the ground and aren’t concreted. Should lift right up and we’ll have a house boat.
