“Why hope for it to win?”
I’m not defending Chris Rock - I didn’t read the article - and I don’t doubt he’s a typical Hollywood Trump hater.
But in the headline, Rock said “my heart goes out to Covid” - that isn’t necessarily saying he hopes for covid to win.
I have heard this same comment used in a positive way.
In fact, someone once said of my mother: “She is such a fighter - I almost feel sorry for the cancer!” It was meant (and taken) as a high compliment.
Again, I’m not saying that Chris Rock’s intention was to imply Trump would kick Covid’s ass to the curb - but that is the way I choose to take it.
