The best thing to see is the USS Hornet. But it’s in Alameda, not Oakland.

What GOP-controlled cities are showing increases in violent crime? Weenie Wallace is full of Schiff.

He would email me at night and casually mention the gunfire he was hearing nearby.I still hear it from time to time. Not kidding about this. Pop pop pop around midnight.
To: thecodont
Yup.
It was around 9, my time so midnight sounds right.
It worried me to death but he said he was safe in his house above it.
It’s been decades...I hope he’s still alive and well.

Why would be they be upset?
Unless someone calls me from Oakland I make zero sales calls there.

This is true because they have not been sustained as Portland and Seattle have. But when there have been the latest incidents like Breonna Taylor and such they are out there.

Ok, then anyone complaining should put on a Trump hat and be white, and walk across town with no security. A camera can film from a tint window car.
Show us how safe Oakland is.

Nothing good ever happens on MLK Boulevard.
That is true in any city where there is a MLK Boulevard

Worked in Oakland numerous times, never without a gun. You have a nice story
BUT.............
oakland,ca crime stats With a crime rate of 68 per one thousand residents, Oakland has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes - from the smallest towns to the very largest cities. One's chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime here is one in 15.

Oakland is at least as far left as Portland but theres really not that many riots or people hurt or angry people and whats the reason why?
The weather
Rioting season in Portland is from roughly May to Sep/Oct, when the weather is (relatively) warm. If I had to make a single guess as to why the rioting is so particularly heavy and continuous this year, it is because, with the lockdowns, the usual whacked-out anarchist contingent and all of the other bored layabouts just had nothing better to do.

Id say these days Oakland is not as bad as Seattle or Portland
Oakland may not be having the nightly riots Portland is having, but Portland is a far mellower and safer city overall than Oakland. By orders of magnitude. In fact, the reason that these silly riots have been tolerated in Portland so long is that they really are confined to a relatively small area near downtown, and since nobody is going downtown in the age of lockdowns anyway, there isn't a huge outcry.

somebody list the various mayors and US congressmen/women who ran Oakland over the decades.
I can name Rep. Ronald Dellums (D-CA), one of the top communists in the history of the US House of Representatives.
I believe Mad Maxine Waters is from Oakland and was previously one of the city’s leaders.
Reds tried to stop US trains taking supplies to ships in the port during the Vietnam war.
Black Panthers were a criminal force there.
Was Mary Quan a mayor there? An old Red Chinese asset.

Oakland, not a problematic area...
