There will be hell to pay if the GOP refuses to get this done before the election, which is appearing evermore to be the case. Given the GOP’s propensity to disappoint (or rather backstab) its a safe bet that they will fail to produce in a timely manner — yet again.

I am not prepared to go to that far. Either by design or ineptitude the fools practically invited the rats to find a way to delay it until after the election. The final vote is scheduled October TWENTY NINTH. For heaven’s sake a bomb threat would be enough to cause enough of a delay to push it past. Idiots.
If I was a DEMOCRAT I'd want this vote held for her confirmation next week. I know I can't stop this nomination, so I want it out of the way quickly so I can campaign against my opponent's vote.

As I've said before in the last couple of days ... the GOP will make this a rapid confirmation process, but they won't cut any corners.
These three Supreme Court nominees have been vetted by the GOP leadership and the Federalist Society for years -- and would have been on the list of potential candidates for ANY Republican president in office today.

I understand your point but there is no reason for Graham to wait until October 22nd before he even starts the hearings it’s cutting it too damn close
The sad thing about this story, to me, is the fact that people as so easily swayed by political ads and don’t do their own research. Ads by their nature are biased for whatever party is producing them, often not true or only partially true and cannot or should not be relied on for information on which to vote. That people can be so easily swayed just highlights how stupid Americans are and how successful our education system has been in dumbing America down.
You have every reason to believe what you said but Graham and Mitch are both up and if they don’t get the vote done before the election it seriously jeopardizes their re-elections too.
Correction the committee vote is scheduled for October 22nd. Hearings start the 15th. 2 days of hearings so there’s no reason to wait until the 22nd for the committee vote.
Wouldn’t it be nice if ONE PERSON could get everything done?
You don’t need to tell me or any other FReeper why we voted for Donald Trump. Anyone born yesterday wouldn’t be old enough to be on the site.
