Parts of Switzerland, Austria and Germany were surprised by unseasonably early snowfall overnight, after a sharp drop in temperatures and heavy precipitation.
The Swiss meteorological agency said Saturday that the town of Montana, in the southern canton (state) of Valais, experienced 10 inches of snowfall

I love the Valais. One of the most fabulous places on earth.
This should not be surprising, as we (the earth) is entering a little ice age, of which the severity & duration is yet to be estimated. It will likely persist for decades at the least.
The wise will consider and prepare.

My Mom told me about it snowing in Rochester NY in the ‘40s and I got free ice cream at the machine shop I worked at in a Rochester January - something that only happened when it reached 90 degrees....
