Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden compared President Trump to Nazi propaganda chief Joseph Goebbels Saturday, accusing the president of lying about his record to the American people.
Speaking to MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle, Biden said Trump has tried to reenforce the false notion that he is a socialist to hurt his standing with moderate swing voters, particularly in the battleground state of Florida.
He add that the GOP has struggled to effectively label him in the home stretch to Election Day.
Im not sure anybody hasnt already made up their mind theyre for Trump. But who knows. Hes sort of like Goebbels. You say the lie long enough, keep repeating it, repeating it, repeating it, it becomes common knowledge, he said.
The other week I was too moderate, as you remember, I was too tough. And now the American people, I think they know who I am. They know my heart, they know my story, my family story. Trump is using socialism to scare and distract Floridians from a failed pandemic.
Florida, a critical battleground state in the race for the White House, is home to a large and diverse Hispanic community made up of people who have come to America from socialist dictatorships, or whose family did so along ago. The GOP is hoping to sway this demographic with messages of Democrats lurching to the left.
Goebbels is notorious for being one of Adolph Hitlers closest associates and was one of the staunchest advocates for exterminating Jewish people during the Holocaust. He was Nazi Germanys propaganda minister and was known for his public speaking skills.

The evil John Gill speaks.
No Melakon required.
And, since by his own admission Joe’s been in the senate for 180 years, he remembers talking with Goebbels personally.
The Nazi card already? Desperation is setting in.

Yeah, he’ll do just fine in a debate.
It’s accelerating, with Biden.
Biden got confused and mistook the president for our national “press” corps.
You know who else liked to compare people to Nazis?
:D
I set that loose on FB the other day.
Man, is it ever spreading.
Give the guy a break.
Don’t you know he was mining hard coal at 5 years old, before his parents whisked him away to the paradise of Delaware?
C’mon, man!
Good....Bidens one nasty vile individual but he’s often depicted by the left otherwise.....and he never was very bright with any degree of grey matter.
more projection from the Biden Basement, eh?
lies lies lies keep flooding us from the D’s and their mass media whores
Jos. Goebbels would be proud
There was a video the other day where Bidens taking credit for everything....”I’m the man that”.....etc.etc.etc. it was so funny.
Whenever you have to use the nazis /Hitler you have already lost the argument
I tell ya... hes out of control... just like that Nazi guy, Googles... uh Gobbles... umm, you know what I mean... help me out here.
was this during one of the pre-recorded “interviews” that were being sent out today while No Energy Joe napped in his basement?
Democrats favorite character assassination label since FDR has been using the name “Hitler” or “Nazi.”
FDR
accused Republican candidate Wendell Willkie of using Hitler tactics by repeating his slogans frequently.
Hubert Humphrey
If the British had not fought in 1940, Hitler would have been in London and if Democrats do not fight in 1968, Nixon will be in the White House.
Governor Pat Brown of California
Goldwater’s acceptance speech had the stench of fascism. All we needed to hear was Heil Hitler.
Martin Luther King
We see danger signs of Hitlerism in the candidacy of Mr. Goldwater.
George Meany (AFL-CIO)
I have drawn a parallel between Goldwater and Hitler and I make no apology for drawing that parallel,” (Some of the organizations represented by Meany had aided Hitler when Stalin told them to).
George McGovern
Except for Adolf Hitler’s extermination of the Jewish people, the American bombardment of defenseless peasants in Indochina is the most barbaric act of modern times.
Tom Lantos
If you overlook your involvement in the KKK, or the Nazi party, or the Republican Party, you are lying. The issue at hand had nothing to do with Nazism. It was about Clintons Secretary of Agriculture taking bribes. The goal was to associate Republicans with Nazism by classing the two together as frequently as possible regardless of relevance, decency or truth.
William Shirer
called Nixon an apt pupil of Hitler, compared Reagan to Hitler for intervening in Grenada and compared Bush I to Hitler for trying to outlaw flag burning.
By the Reagan years, the left had achieved a banality of Hitler analogies. Everything Reagan did was just like Hitler. All of Reagans associates were just like Hitler. It was Hitlers all the way down.
Kurt Vonnegut
The only difference between Bush and Hitler is that Hitler was elected. Hitler wasnt elected, Bush was, but you cant expect a left-wing loudmouth to know history.
Charles Rangel
The Iraq War is just as bad as the 6 million Jews being killed.” (Rangel had also claimed that the Contract with America was worse than Hitler).
Durbin
compared Gitmo to Nazi concentration camps.
John Glenn
compared Republican arguments to Nazi propaganda. Its the old Hitler business
if you hear something repeated, repeated, you start to believe it.
Al Gore
The administration works closely with a network of rapid-response digital Brown Shirts.
Keith Ellison (a former Nation of Islam supporter who had defended its anti-Semitism)
compared the September 11 to the Reichstag fire.
Robert Byrd (a former Klansman)
compared efforts to block Democratic filibusters to Nazi Germany.
And so the only thing we can truly be certain of is that any Republican nominee will be Hitler.
Accusations of Nazism remain the default argument for a Democratic Party turned far to the left.
To most people, Nazi analogies summon up images of the Holocaust and a ruthless dictatorship. To the left however, any populist reaction against their rule is Nazism.
Optimists thought that the Democrats had reached Peak Hitler under Bush. But for the left there is no Peak Hitler. The same tired line of attack has been trotted out for fifty years.
And so each Republican makes the electoral journey from Hitler to a political moderate whom a latter generation of liberals mourns while complaining that this latest Republican really is Hitler.
