As a strongly adherent Catholic Barrett will bring out Catholic voters an important bloc.

The krats are going gonzo gorilla on Trump's first nominee no matter who it is. Send out a sacrificial lamb to waste their political capital on, then nominate Barrett who will have an easier go at it. Catholics have more reason to vote for Trump and a Republican Senate if her nomination comes after the election.

You forgot the eighth and best reason for nominating Amy Barrett: She is the choice of the Washington Republican establishment, she is one of them. It’s so easy to fool conservatives.

Yes, we can dream. And Trump could do a late swivel. But even setting up to not meet with Lagoa until yesterday looked like a planned consolation meeting. I think Barnes had it perfectly in part because he acknowledged that Rushing was the best constitutionalist available. She is still very young, and I could see her and the also young black KY AG as youthful picks in his second term.

However, Barrett could be a 40-year disaster who also derails Trump’s response to the Dems’ lawfare theft of this election.

Another possibility would be Barrett getting derailed early on and McConnell going for the ballsy bypassing of hearings, given that Lagoa was just confirmed by the Senate for her current position a year ago.

That could be a late, last-minute save of our republic.

Barrett is not actually the most qualified. Very little time as a judge at all.

Barrett is not mainstream Catholic, but Lagoa is.

Most American Catholics are not slaves to the dictates from pope—even when he’s a commie like the current one. Barrett admits that she is.

I know the history. 0b0z0 actually repeated it three times.

I wish the media were a corpse rather than the lively enemy of the country that they are.

No kidding.

Wicked easy.

Most likely Barrett is another Gorsuch and Kavanaugh. With us most of the time and AWOL many times when it matters most. Given that there is really no reason to worry about this SCOTUS pick.

Please provide evidence that Amy Barrett is a darling of the Washington Republican Establishment. As best I can tell she has never played any kind of a role in DC and she lives a 500 miles away.

Great analysis. But Amy’s name has been released. If there’s going to be a switch I would think he already discussed with Amy that Lagoa might be easier to put through and Amy would understand that it was for the greater good rather than drag her, her family, her religion and the country through hell.

Don’t get your hopes up on SCOTUS and you won’t get disappointed. There is no magic SCOTUS pick who will save this country. Our institutions our corrupt beyond reform and SCOTUS isn’t going to change that. John Roberts will make sure of that.

She comes from the Republican establishment, her father was a Shell Oil corporate lawyer, she was educated at Harvard, a school favored by the establishment. She is a member of the Federalist Society, the essence of the establishment with the legal profession. Her campaign for the Supreme Court has been supported and advocated by the Washington establishment in government and in legal circles. She is their favorite. Her judicial record, while clearly conservative, defers to government, the natural environment for the Washington establishment. She has supported lockdown measures that employ the excuse of “emergency” to deprive citizens of their individual rights. This is the behavior of the Trump haters, and they are betting that she is one of them, who once confirmed with resist Trump as they are doing.

If you want an establishment conservative, she’s your gal. We have not been well served by these types. I would prefer a Trump conservative, a populist, and she is not that.

I will watch and wait. I hope that I am wrong.

Stop at the first sentence.

She was not educated at Harvard, from Wiki

Barrett studied English literature at Rhodes College. She graduated magna cum laude in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She then studied law at Notre Dame Law School on a full-tuition scholarship. She was an executive editor of the Notre Dame Law Review and graduated first in her class in 1997 with a Juris Doctor summa cum laude.

No, she is far worse from the indications. Recusing herself if a correct legal opinion would differ from what Pope Francis says?

Endorsing the lockdown and the Jacobson forced vaccination decision?

No, thanks. Bad rulings in just one year of judicial experience. If we and Trump haven’t figured out that the current Federalist Society powers that be are working against actual constitutionalism on the court, that’s on us and Trump.

Third sentence

Her campaign for the Supreme Court has been supported and advocated by the Washington establishment in government and in legal circles.

She has not campaigned to be on the Supreme Court.

When you argue with a dumb ass you look like a dumb ass. Bye.

President Trump has figure out politics just fine. You don’t seem to realize there is no magic Constitutionalist candidate here to chose. Barrett is as good as we are going to get out of the corrupt United States Senate.

Why lie?

Barrett has never ruled on the lock downs. She ruled (along with 2 other judges, one of them also a Trump appointee) that an exception to the 50 person rule for religious gathering was constitutional. Do you have a problem with that ruling?

I am not a lawyer and can see a case for that.

But she did embrace Jacobson and egads, said she’d recuse herself if a correct decision conflicted what Pope Francis says. Lockdowns do fit with that worldview.

Another lie

Amy Barrett testified under oath that she can not imagine any scenario in with she would recluse herself.
