Apparently if this goes through H-1B workers will have to be paid at least the median salary for their jobs. Currently they can be paid as little as the 17th percentile for the occupation and location - and 52% of them are (https://cis.org/Miano/Primer-Reporters-Looking-H1B-Program).

Excellent! I’d like it much better if companies had to pay foreigners a premium like other countries do, but this is another step in the right direction.

But Deep State number crunching wonks at the Labor Dept. determine what those “median salaries” are. So there’s that.

Better idea: the government charges for each visa, an amount equal to 50% of the person’s salary.

It is almost to late. The Indians have basically completely taken over the technical job recruiting system in the US. And they don’t hire Americans. If you are an American born computer consultant, you are a second class citizen in your own country. Thanks Google and Facebook.
