My husband was recently passed over for a job over this. They just had to be the place that had the one black guy in it. It’s not the first time either.

If you don’t blame racism, then the individual is responsible and that’s racist!

Yeah. Just hire people based on their skin color alone. That’ll work out well.

He said a lack of qualified talent and he's right. I know that from experience. Compounding the problem is when we find someone and they get some experience all manner of new opportunities open up for them such as being poached by a different firm, political opportunities, academia, etc.

Instead of forcing this guy to bow to political correctness, how about facing the problem? It all starts in the union public schools where the majority of their graduates are years behind in basic math and literacy skills. The failure of the teachers unions severely restricts the number of blacks capable of succeeding in college. But, they will never be honest about this problem.

It won’t be the last.
In engineering, I’ve seen the most qualified person (White male) get passed over for Blacks and women that didn’t deserve the position.

I’m opening an LLC of one. I’ll just bid on jobs.
No Blacks, no women, no HR Department or PC training.
Just making money and doing work.

Too little talent

Reverse Discrimination has had a devastating effect on many lives and careers. It is alive and well, and in many ways has never been more destructive than it is today. One way that blacks can start to improve their career prospects legitimately is to start majoring in STEM fields, Finance and other really challenging degree fields. They lag way behind in these fields, even though they pay better than a sociology or social justice degree or the like. You often become what you major in. If they want those jobs they should do the same work everyone else does to obtain them.

Re: What did the freed slaves do in Liberia?

I do not know how well or how poorly they did in the 1800s.

In 2020, per capita income is $1,400 per year.

In 2020, per capita GDP is $700 per year.

Liberia has about 20 different ethnic groups, presumably all African.

Diversity is their strength!

We also have to look at colleges as well and make sure they encourage people to get a degree that is worth wile, not a gender studies degree.

After HS i went to Community College for 2 years. The CC was a good school for the program I chose, however, it was in a city with a poor school system. In the required English 101 classes I was shocked at how many people struggled with things I learned in freshmen or sophomore year. The fact that a college had to have a 080 level "Reading 1" course.

Here is the description

Reading 1 offers practice in active reading skills for improved comprehension and efficiency, as well as vocabulary development using a variety of materials from textbooks, literature, and periodicals. Students will be introduced to the Library in this course.
