We use heirloom and keep the seeds year-to-year. Even the tomato seeds (not easy).

Thanks for the heads-up, though. We do keep our seeds in dated paper envelopes. Enough to plant our entire yard twice.

The only drawback is trying to stock enough canning lids/bands.

I’ve been buying them abundantly for years.

Look into Tattler reusable lids.

I have some I used on some applesauce one year just to try them out and see how long they’d last.

I set a couple jars aside for the trial.

Going on 12 years now and they are still working.
