The thought of Civil War has been in the minds of many people lately, on both sides of the political and cultural divide. This is not a thing to be wished for, though no one should kid themselves into believing it’s impossible either. Let us take a sober look at what such a conflict might entail.
To begin with, it would not look like the first American Civil War, which was essentially a war between two regions of the country with different economic interests. The divide created two separate countries, both initially contiguous, intact, and relatively homogeneous. The lines of demarcation now are only somewhat regional, and tend to correspond to differences between urban and rural populations, as well as differences of race and class. A second American Civil War would be much more similar to the Spanish Civil War, with the leftists dominating the cities and conservatives controlling the countryside. Conflicts of this nature, with enemies mixed geographically, are a formula for spontaneous mass bloodletting. India-Pakistan during the 1947 partition comes to mind as another modern example. Given an absence of legitimate government and the friction of proximity, ordinary people can be moved to settle grievances by killing one another without the need for governments to egg them on.
Some dimensions of a future civil war would be, I think, largely unprecedented. When lesser countries have imploded in violence in recent times, they have done so with most of the world around them still intact. There were other nations to offer aid, assistance and intervention, welcome or unwelcome. There were places for refugees to go. The collapse of the world’s remaining superpower would take much of the world down with it. A global economic crisis would be inevitable.

Sales to liberals and conservatives are nearly split 50/50. That comes from personal relationships with the top gun dealers in the country. Don’t be fooled into thinking the left isn’t well armed. The left has also been joining the military at high rates, many specifically to gain combat training.
Don’t let bravado lead you to seriously underestimating the opponent. We may be better at it, but they haven’t fielded their A-tream yet.
Several years back I posted the numbers of deer hunting licenses issued in NY, PA, MI, MN, WI, Texas and maybe one or two others. Total was several million.
And I asked the question:
Does anyone think that every one of those hunters was a Republican, much less a conservative?
Marxists in cities will just have to live on veggie burgers. They take a couple of days to grow in sidewalk gardens, but they’re just as good as “real” cheeseburgers.;-)

Every one...no. Most......yes (although likely not "Republican".....independents and conservative). Leftists are typically highly urbanized and quintessential city dwellers..."hunting", to them, is immoral and should be illegal.
There is a massive Deep State element to the Pentagon as result of Obama’s purge. I wouldn’t want to bet which side will be doing the arresting/executions.

Engaging in civil war is not seeking liberty unless it is tyranny coming at you, as in democrat control. In that case, it would be the military fighting each other. You can’t persuade me that the American soldier would be all in on destroying liberty or the nation.
I agree. Both sides misjudged the other in the first civil war, and I’m afraid it is happening again. All I can say is, get ready to defend your home and family.
No one ever really "wins" a civil war. All of this is so stupid; sin causes blindness.

Your guess doesn’t correlate with the voting numbers in the blue states.
Check out just one state for yourself.
Look up the number of deer permits and the numbers of votes cast. Be prepared for a surprise.
Not trying to sway anyone....the numbers are what they are....and should be something for serious consideration. Intel is key for preparation and action.
The military ranks are as split as is our society, I think. Many women, gays, atheists and SJWs. When it comes down to actions, how many will hesitate to shoot older white male patriots?
I believe it would boil down to who controls the federal military. Drilling down, IF the President has control of the federal military, he/she will determine who wins a civil war. If there has been a coup, then the coup leader(s) or generals independent of any other control - will determine who wins the civil war.
