They'll be looted before dawn, and by Saturday the good stuff will be in some rich liberal's Upper West Side condo.

Among the artifacts was a figurine typically buried in Egyptian gravesites to aid the deceased in the afterlife Yeah, I'll bet the figurine was a lot of help in the afterlife.

Is it really that difficult to find 15 or 20 coffins buried anywhere in Egypt?

This was an interesting time. The Persians were conquering Egypt and weren’t really thrown out until Alexander the Great beat them 150 years later. Could be some interesting Jewish, Greek and Persian stuff in there.

I’m not quite understanding on why they were found in a well. Where they originally put there or thrown down into a well at a later time? Why a well, which I picture as a deep narrow hole in the ground?

The headline says 27, the first line of the story says 37, but who cares? Seen one, you’ve seen ‘em all.

Yes, Helen of Thomas was well known in ancient times.
Homer referred to her as "The Face That Sank a Thousand Ships".

By ‘well’, they just mean ‘shaft’. The Egyptians moved to this form of tomb after the pyramids fell to grave robbers.
