This is not workable - this Justice would probably have to recuse.
And besides that, in the practical sense, her seat being left vacant is the same as their being 1 more conservative Justice.
The Circuit Court seats are now filled - any District Court seats than still be filled should be the focus for the remainder of the time.

It’s going to be a strong motivator for the Base on both sides. GOTV on steroids.
For any in the middle it is going to be a quandary, but definitely a new, additional major issue. Casts a big shadow over any polling.
