Until Roger Goodell and the NFL recently signified their devotion to the anti-American mythology promoted by Black Lives Matter and prostrated themselves before its pantheon of privileged heroes such as Colin Kaepernick, football had for decades been something that made us all incredibly happy and was a central feature of our lives each fall. Now it will not be a part of our lives for the foreseeable future, and I seriously doubt that we're unique.
That should strike fear into the hearts of NFL executives. There is a seismic shift beneath our feet in the world of sports today, and I think most sports fans of a certain age see it clearly, even if the top brass of the NFL cannot.

There is no way out for Goodell. The only viable way out for the NFL, at this point, is to oust Goodell and announce a "Back to Football" campaign to coincide with the receding of the COVID crisis. An announcement centering on national pride and normalcy would be amazingly easy to achieve and wildly popular, and it would maintain the NFL's position as "America's sport."
That is the only thing that might salvage the destruction that Roger Goodell has caused. The NFL's newfound wokeness under his leadership is unlikely to attract new fans of the game, but a quick pivot to normalcy might halt the current exodus of its traditional fan base. Even still, many fans will never return to watching football, and it seems a foregone conclusion that the NFL will never again be dominant in American life as it once was.

I will never watch a football game that has politics tied to it in any manner shape or form, whether the players are Black White, Brown , Yellow or otherwise..period!!!
And....as far as I am concerned, the low life, scum & vermin pieces of humanity, Roger Goodell & LeBron James better donate $100,000.00 each to the two “Police Deputies” that were shot at and almost killed in California last Saturday!!!
You know what I think, and millions of other, all types, all races Americans think, the NFL, the NBA, the NHL, the MLB, NASCAR, etc., “SUCK, BIG TIME”. They are all nothing but Traitors, Turncoats, America Haters, & “100% BUTT WIPES”!!!
That's the biggest change in my mind. The NFL has gone all-in on sticking the anthem and more importantly in their minds, PROTESTORS, in our face. They don't care about the anthem -- it's the protestors that must be allowed to protest. And they're going to shove it down your throat.
I stopped watching during the Colin Kaepernick debacle where Goodell refused to address the problem head on. Now, he's move from apathy to activism, and trying to force us to embrace the protest.
No thanks.
I will never again waste another Sunday afternoon or Monday night watching NFL football. In fact, it started last year.

Like Barney Coopersmith I would stand during the anthem so I know it is very rare for the NFL to televise it. But this last night was huge. All about the kneeling, the soloist was great too. For a Monday night? Hmm. And the tempo was so slow it was dragged out for long enough to get spectators to reconsider their love of the USA
One wonders who’s sponsoring this seditious crap.
They'll figure it out when the manager sees the in-store sales for the day.

The only sports game in town and team worth watching is team Trump. He’s the greatest superstar in any sport right now nobody compares. Trust me this guy will never take a knee. Donald J Trump is the greatest show on earth right now live and in color.

History...history not often reported or leaked to the ticket holders.
I hope this helps you; it opened my eyes, to better understand when and why the publics respect for the NFL organization started to crumble....
In 2012 the NFL had an issue with Tim Tebow kneeling before each game to pray, they also had an issue with Tebow wearing John 3:16 as part of his eye-black to avoid glare, and made him take it off.
In 2013 the NFL fined Brandon Marshall for wearing green cleats to raise awareness for people with mental health
disorders.
In 2014 Robert Griffin III (RG3) entered a post-game press conference wearing a shirt that said “Know Jesus
Know Peace” but was forced to turn it inside out by an NFL uniform inspector before speaking at the podium.
In 2015 DeAngelo Williams was fined for wearing “Find the Cure” eye black for breast cancer awareness.
In 2015 William Gay was fined for wearing purple cleats to raise awareness for domestic violence. (Not that the NFL
has a domestic violence problem..).
In 2016 the NFL prevented the Dallas Cowboys from wearing a decal on their helmet in honor of 5 Dallas Police officers
killed in the line of duty.
2016 the NFL threatened to fine players who wanted to wear cleats to commemorate the 15th anniversary of 9/11.
So....tell me again how the NFL supports free speech and expression. It seems quite clear based on these facts
that the NFL has taken a position against any action by NFL players demonstrating RESPECT for any issue:
For God, social causes such as mental health, cancer, domestic violence, for cops killed arbitrarily, for being
cops, or for the Memory of 9/11...
BUT....they will allow demonstrations of DISRESPECT for our National Flag, our National Anthem, for America,
and for the American People, if it will help mollify a particular Group and its supporters. That is who and what the NFL now has shown itself to be.
Adults should grow up and not waste a day, or more, to 25 year old fast Black people.
Train for a sport yourself, read, hike, volunteer, spend time with family, etc...
I grew up watching football with my dad. I them watched it with my hubby and/or dad.
It was a group activity.
Let’s talk to the NFL and NBA about equality!

Disappointed, but can’t say that I’m missing the NFL...
Quite frankly, I no longer care about these idiots who disrespect the Flag and have no self awareness that this country provided them with the opportunity to achieve their professional and financial dreams...
