Democrats have begun running up a lopsided advantage in early voting as well as absentee ballot requests, in an election what has seen an unprecedented split on voting strategy and furious attacks by the president on mail-voting.
The advantage is pronounced in the battleground states that will decide the election, and that are attracting candidate visits and a TV air war.
The differential in absentee ballot requests has hit three-to-one in Pennsylvania and North Carolina, two states that President Donald Trump won in 2016 that Joe Biden is hoping to strip back.
The advantage in the Keystone state has extended to ballot requests by people who didn't vote in 2016. A total of 175,000 Democrats who skipped 2016 have asked for ballots, more than double the number of Republicans, Politico reported.
The Democratic lead in ballot requests in Florida a state Trump carried where Biden is making a run and holding a slight lead in the polls is 700,000.
A similar dynamic is playing out in Ohio, a state Trump carried that lies just outside the 'blue wall' of Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania that Democrats are focused on.
The Democratic advantage has carried over to key counties in Ohio, Statehouse News reported.
In strongly Republican Warren County, Republicans and Democrats are running about even in ballot requests. But Republicans accounted for three times as many requests four years ago.

I am in PA where we are getting mixed signals from the Trump campaign. They almost seem to want us to vote by mail. Perhaps they are planning to fight fire with fire?
In Maryland in 2006, Republican Governor Ehrlich was running for reelection against Martin O’Malley in a horrible year for Republicans. The Republicans blanketed mailboxes and voicemails with pleas to “vote absentee.” They spent a ton on mailing out absentee ballot requests to Republican voters. In the end, the Republicans got crushed, but days later Republicans, as the mail in votes were counted after Election Day, won the absentee vote by practically 2 to 1. It affected a handful of very tight races in the suburbs/rural areas.
“Printed in Mexico”
Democrats will be voting for Trump. How about this story of 6 Dem mayors in Minnesota voting for Trump.
Maybe these mail-in ballots will cannibalize election day voting. Democrats are unreasonably afraid of “the virus.” Hopefully these requests are legitimate voters who normally vote on the real election day.
But, fraud is afoot.
One thing to be wary of: states shutting down or reducing polling locations, Democrats suspecting that a large number will be going to the polls.
So how many of those votes are duplicates?
The Daily Mail is reliably LEFTist albeit not as far left as the Guardian. What I wonder is if Absentee Ballots are differentiated from Mail-In Ballots? There are many reasons for the former but generic mail-in seems to cater to the casual crowd.
I, personally am torn between voting on Election Day itself, as has been my habit for years OR voting when ‘early voting’ starts up in my county. Doing the latter permits me to be unworried about any impediment happening on “Der Tag” AND giving another count to that oft-used “X number of registered Republicans have voted to date versus X number of Democrats.” Not making a firm decision yet but YES, I’d walk straight through armed BLM/Black Panthers to vote this Election!
It’s nuts that Pennsylvania and Michigan don’t start counting them until election day. It could be half the total votes this year.
The election night returns will be woefully incomplete.
Heard the same thing in 2016 about the huge number of early votes for Clinton.
Time to go to the archives and see what threads we had back in 2016 on this topic.
Me too. Here in North Carolina I have twice received ballot requests for me to send in for a vote by mail ballot. I have ripped them to pieces (just in case) and thrown them in the garbage twice. I’m going to show up on election day and make sure my vote is counted.
Yep, same. Bet they have a record number of dead people, cats, and dogs, voting too....
Pa is a huge deal. And fossil fuels is a big part of their economy. I can't imagine Joe winning Pa...but one thing they're good at is cheating...and getting out the vote.
They’re just plain lazy.
Don’t fool yourself, 90% of democrats will vote for Biden.
They’re getting the dead and nursing home vote in early.
Is anyone here a resident of N.J.? I just had a friend call me and she said that the governor is only allowing mail in votes. I said that I couldn’t believe that there would be no polling places open and she continued that yes, they will be open but you must bring your mail in ballot with you. This sounds like fake news.
(Not that it will make much of a difference in The People's Republik of Connecticut)
Not surprising. Dems always seem to have an edge in this area (including early voting) and it is nothing to panic about. I do wonder how many who registered as ‘Dem’ still intend to vote that way. I personally know old-school Dems who are still registered as such but now vote Rep.
