President Trump’s head popped up during his top-secret intelligence briefing in the Oval Office on Jan. 28 when the discussion turned to the coronavirus outbreak in China.
“This will be the biggest national security threat you face in your presidency,” national security adviser Robert C. O’Brien told Trump, according to a new book by Washington Post associate editor Bob Woodward. “This is going to be the roughest thing you face.”
Matthew Pottinger, the deputy national security adviser, agreed. He told the president that after reaching contacts in China, it was evident that the world faced a health emergency on par with the flu pandemic of 1918, which killed an estimated 50 million people worldwide.
Ten days later, Trump called Woodward and revealed that he thought the situation was far more dire than what he had been saying publicly.
“You just breathe the air and that’s how it’s passed,” Trump said in a Feb. 7 call. “And so that’s a very tricky one. That’s a very delicate one. It’s also more deadly than even your strenuous flu.”
“This is deadly stuff,” the president repeated for emphasis.

Seems to me that Trump avoided running around like a mad man, when he did not have all the facts.

The article says Trump actually called Redford Woodward. so he must have known he might be taped.
The more I think of it, the more I don't see this as a "Bombshell". He reassured the country while at the same time taking the threat seriously.

Sadly, this is just another one of those death by a thousand cuts-style attacks.
To most anyone with an iota of intelligence, Bob Woodward should be shunned for his lack of journalistic integrity, etc. But Woodward is still held in some level of esteem by those out there who will remembers him as the guy who “exposed” Nixon.
Is this killing blow to the campaign? No but it’s another one of those incidents where the White House will have to go on the defensive so as to stymie as much bad press as they can.
I’m certainly not saying that trump did but I really really hope he didn’t have any kind of phone conversation with a guy like bob Woodward. Nothing good can come from a call like that.
And why the hell is HIDEN camp NOT being held accountable for this outrageous onslaught of crap coming out! It used to be that if the candidate got low and sleazy the people would immediately rebuke that candidate! It looks like they’re shielding dementia jo who is not even making one iota decision in this campaign! Trump needs to point that out more and more!!
It won’t make any difference - true or not. None of Trump’s supporters would believe Bob Bernstein if he said, “Good Morning!” None of the Trump haters will vote against Trump just because of this story.
As usual, Bernstein is woefully irrelevant and he is the only one who can’t see it. Even his “friends” in the Fake Media are laughing up their sleeves at this.

I think Trump should get down in the gutter with them. Quote Biden’s own words about his racial jungle and school segregation comments. It doesn’t resonate with postings on social media. If it comes out of Trump’s mouth at a rally it will get play. Talk about Kamala telling the rapist what a brave guy he is. Talk about the me too woman the media ignores. Put it front and center. Instead of playing defense he needs to go on offense and make it personal.
They are more than on the same page...they are coordinated. Biden had this in his speech today in Michigan.
There was no way Biden would know about this story unless someone told him days ago that it was coming.
