President Donald Trump attacked former White House chief of staff John Kelly at an extraordinary White House press conference Friday evening as the possible source for a report that he had called fallen troops 'suckers.'
Trump denounced the report and tore into Kelly, saying the former Marine General 'got eaten alive' and 'petered out' serving as his top advisor in the White House.
Trump ripped Kelly when asked about the brutal Atlantic story that reports he spoke of fallen U.S. soldiers as 'losers' and 'suckers' while skipping a planned solemn centennial visit to a cemetery in France that houses fallen Marines over concerns about getting rained on.

Trump made a great defense of himself and needs to drop this now. By dragging Kelly into this he’s giving the story more legs.

I remember Kelly saying it was the worst job he ever had so it’s easy to agree that he “got eaten alive” as Chief of Staff.
I can even imagine Trump being upset with the generals and saying he wouldn’t want to go to war with them. Trump obviously doesn’t agree with 20 year wars and other endless deployments. Trump sees the taxpayer money as a businessman would see his own money and I recall the generals disparaged him for that.
So trump does not want to obey warmongers and they lie?
Trump called The Atlantic article a lie. Now the ball is in The Atlantic’s court. Either they produce evidence, or they retract the story. They can’t hide.
Even Bolton and Meghan McCain’s husband disputed this ridiculous story. It’s a fake news hit job that will backfire.
Part of the playbook. Throw a ridiculous story out there with a modicum of truth (The President did not go to the WW1 site) and surround it with lies. This will happen every Wednesday/Thursday from here on out. They do this every two years.

I believe these “troops are suckers and losers” comments came out of the administration... of Obunghole!
His opponents are not going to want drop it any time soon.
Bolton said that he didn't hear Trump say it but that doesn't mean he didn't say it when he wasn't in the room. His implication is that such comments wouldn't be out of character for Trump. So his "dispute" isn't much of a dispute.
Other than Tucker Carlson, Fox is dead to me.
