Warrior blood runs in my veins, because my family was military for several hundred years. As a military wife, I supported two husbands in wartime, was a military mother with two children who served in peacetime, and the grandmother of one who served in Afghanistan.

I’m ashamed of the antics of the children throwing tantrums in cities where they feel they need to break things to get some attention. They all need to be spanked and given some hard labor. That includes the “news”casters.

The Left is nothing but an indulgent distant relative who spoils everything and everyone it touches.

Yes, and those were in fact the “greatest generation” folks. Their children were just as bad or worse.

Whoopsie, his candidacy was in 1948. On the campaign trail he got nailed in the head by some object thrown by a union member.

Hard labor, yeah, somethin' like that. Pillory. The Stocks. Lashed to a post in the town square and whipped.

Too true.

“From bondage to spiritual faith,
From spiritual faith to great courage,
From courage to liberty,
From liberty to abundance,
From abundance to selfishness,
From selfishness to complacency,
From complacency to apathy,
From apathy to dependency,
From dependency back again to bondage.” ~ Alexander Fraser Tytler

“Haven’t seen a blip of this on the news today”

I did earlier on Foxnews. They said Trump is supposed to make remarks in NC later today.

My dad is still with us at 97.
He went into Europe through Normandy Beach on DDay plus 1.

God Bless your Dad.

I visited the American Cemetary in Normandy, I could have spent the entire day there, just reading all the gravestones.

At the very least, the whip should be applied if there is any sign of slacking.

The greatest generation wasn't all one thing, neither were their kids. FDR was the only President my folks remembered until Truman took over, by which time one of mine had graduated and the other was still in high school. They were Great Depression babies, and tended to hold their noses when they voted for the Demwits.

It absolutely could have been intended for Stalin. If you think about the precarious situation sending fleet units into Tokyo Bay, you’d want it understood that those units have top cover. The IJN did have Kaiten (mini-subs) & motor-torpedo boats that could have been rigged for suicide runs. They’d been husbanding this type of equipment to repel the expected amphibious invasions. The USN would really need to discourage that thought by throwing “The Big Blue Blanket” over the area. If Stalin’s representatives were on the Missouri to witness the firepower, so much the better.

The video link of the WW2 Japanese surrender signing-ceremony that is posted in # 16 above-thread is not only historical footage, but it's dramatic and emotional as well. It's a gripping event that stirred memories of many in my family, all now deceased, who served in that war.

You can not help but be totally moved watching this video.

A million thanks for posting, Pete.....I've bookmarked it and intend to forward the link to my relatives across the fruited plain whose late family members served so nobly in all military branches...including sending the link to some of my kin in England, where a late 2nd cousin served in the Royal Navy on a battleship in both the Atlantic and Pacific war theaters.

Bless all those who served....we are so proud of you !

Leni

My Dad was and is recorded as Korean War Vet (he was also a WW2 Vet except he was 13 (15 when he was caught) and got sent home) went back to his same Squadron in the Pacific when his Mother signed the papers when he turned 17...
Left to Him ... Bayonets at 2 Paces, lets Do IT! ... for the first 10 years of my life he was all WW2 and it wasn’t until I was in my 20’s that I even knew about what he did in Korea.

My EX Wife was Filipino ... Left up to Her ... Every Japanese gets to Jump off a Jeep and Impale themselves on a Bayonet, held by a Child.

My EX Wife’s Dad and her Grandfather were known for Be-Heading Japanese soldiers and leaving just the head on the trail (The Ex’s Dad didn’t stop when the War was over).
The Chinese were worse but Time allowed them to integrate ... may be awhile before the Japanese can do the same.

The EX’s Father did Far Far Worse ... in my mind he was worse than the Japanese invaders and just as Cruel but being
Muslim he cannot be Judged, for some reason the POS got a pass for his Heinous Crimes and was serving time just for killing Japanese after the WW2 ended
His Family (Kids) DID NOT (especially not his daughters) they did not fare as well ...
His 11 Children (save one) did not even attend nor offer to help to pay for his Funeral

They were getting close to releasing my dad, and thousands of others, from Japanese POW camps. He was shot down, in a B-29, over Tokyo, and was captured.
