Look what they did to Gundy. Saban had to kiss their ass or quit
Nobody gives a damn anymore.
Does this count against the 20 hours per week that student
athletes are allowed to train?
(For football it’s more like 17 - game time counts against the 20 - students are supposed to study, you know).
I don’t know if it’s any different while school is not in session.
these white coaches are just kissing up to black athletes, if these coaches are really sincere about racial injustice, let them resign and have a black assistant take their job, i mean these sports football, basketball are primarily black athletes so why not
You are obviously completely unfamiliar with Nick Saban.
You are right, #2 and #3 collide. That is why I said the he was/is in a difficult position. Saban tries to reach players and give them the tools and habits to become successful in life. Rioting doesn’t do that. Peaceful protesting can be instructional.
The problem is that the protests can morph into confrontational and violent events. He knows that. What do you think would have happened had Saban ignored the players and not marched?
I’m not defending his political choices. I’m simply telling you that his job, to develop players and field a highly competitive team, will be made immeasurably harder if he doesn’t keep the unrest and violence away. He chose the best course to keep these guys in school, going to class and playing ball. Saban has been one of the biggest advocates of playing ball this year. He even made the point that these athletes will be SAFEST on campus in a regimented and structured environment.
Taking an ideological sledgehammer to the players will not win them over to more reasonable (to us) thinking.
Alabandits with their masks on.
LSU! Coach O is a Trump supporter!
It’s all about recruiting. Sabear knows who butters his bread.
Buck Fama.
ApparentLy very
Black culture worldwide has same issues more than any other group
How do you know Mr Racist WD?
Cause Ive lived in majority or near majority black culture most of my life worldwide
Lack of nuclear family is the most common denominator
I can imagine a situation where he’s trying to recruit the best black high school seniors in the Southeast, and his scouts and signers are competing with Georgia, LSU, Florida, Florida State, Mississippi and Miss State, Tennessee, Arkansas, etc.
If he doesn’t do this, those other schools will quietly tell the potential recruit that “ole Nick don’t like to haul no coal and thinks blacks can’t do well exceptin’ to playing ball and such. You don’t wanna go to no wassiss school now do ya, boy? Now do you like Cadillac Escalades?
Mercedes? Blond cheerleaders?”
So I’d say these things are all about the recruiting.
I admit I am unfamiliar with Nick Saban, but you just described what any lifelong college FB fan would say about the coach of his/her favorite team.
I disagree with Sabans politics, but I do hope he can mold these young mens minds. I hope that they can all learn that conservatives have fought hard to give black people and every color person opportunities to succeed, and so often we are outnumbered at the voting booth by liberals who just want to keep others down.
I hope they waken to the fact that President Trump is the first president in my lifetime (60 years) who has really made a difference for all Americans, and on so many levels.
If wishes were horses. UA fans need their bread and circuses so they will not quit Saban. Sadly we are seeing here in our local municipal elections the results of 40+ years of public education indoctrination. Gen X-Y-Z are pushing the Boomers out the door. BLM has found a faint resonance here in AL.
Nope. He had a chance to keep his head above the fray. He didn’t. He lost.
No. He cucked. There is NO unifying players. They call the shots, now. Not the coach.
What more do we need to boycott these a##wipes
The wife and her family ( all of them auburn & Alabama alumni ) have the same feeling as you.... Even one SIL played for Bear Bryant ....
Nick Saban Is the devil.
