Aurora police say a couple was shot and killed after responding to an online advertisement for a used car. Investigators say 18-year-old Kyree Brown admitted to stealing the 2017 Toyota RAV4 and posting it for sale on the Letgo app. When Joseph and Jossline Roland met him to buy the car, with thousands of dollars in cash, Brown allegedly pulled a gun and shot them as they tried to get away.
According to the arrest affidavit, the Rolands left home at about 11 p.m. on Aug. 14 to meet the seller at Southlands Mall.
Brown said he met the couple at the mall and told them he accidentally brought the wrong vehicle title. He asked them to follow him to an apartment on East Cornell Circle near South Parker Road.
Brown said he pointed the gun at Joseph Roland, while the couple was still in their car, and demanded the money. He said Joseph Roland grabbed his arm and said the car started moving. Brown said the decided to shoot Joseph and accidentally shot Jossline.
Joseph and Jossline Roland died later at the hospital.
Brown allegedly told police he took $3,000 from the couple and tried to set the stolen RAV4 on fire near Havana Street and East Colfax Avenue.

Yep, car dealers don’t make any money on the sale of cars anymore. The only money is in financing, extended warranties and service.
......................................................
I bought a bumper to bumper life time warranty in 2016 for my Toyota Highlander for $1,795 the warranty stays with the vehicle if you pass it on to one of your children. I’m giving it to my youngest daughter next month.
Sounded like a good deal to me.
>> 2017 Toyota RAV4
$3k ?
Thats at least a $15k car. And no VIN check?
A deal too good to be true. Unfortunate situation for the victims, but they must have known something wasnt right.
Yup. You buy down the rate with extra warranties and free oil changes.
Toyota dealer told me that cash isnt a bargaining tool any more, they would rather you finance with them.

And he’s right. And not always to his advantage. I haven’t paid over 1.9% for financing in many years. All the while my investments earn more than that. So why should I pay cash?
Now. If a dealer is willing to discount the price provided you sign a 5 percent note; do so. Provided you pay off the note in full within 30 days.
There are a lot of naïve people out there. One’s who think “That couldn’t possibly happen to me!’. Think any thoughts or acts pf precaution in this type of case are racist. They exist because I have met many of them.
OMG.
Just read elsewhere this couple had 5 children.
How awful.
Whatcha talking about Willis.
Definitely.
Yes, here she is in a vid. Such a waste.
Rope, tree.
The couple thought they were buying a 2017 RAV4 for $3,000 how STUPID could they be OMG!!
