A slip in support for Black Lives Matter? (Uh-oh... Washington Post worried)
Washington Post ^ | 08/29/20 | Aaron Blake

If there’s one thing the Republican National Convention banked on this past week, it’s the idea that Americans will find the scenes of unrest during racial-justice protests terrifying and vote accordingly — specifically, for President Trump.

In his speech closing out the convention’s final session Thursday night, Trump warned about “mob rule,” building upon a speech he made last week in which he pitched himself as the “only thing standing between the American Dream and total anarchy, madness and chaos.” Despite all of it occurring on his watch and despite his failed 2016 promises to end such scenes of violence, Trump is again asking Americans to believe him when he says he’s the solution.

Whether they will or not — and how much they actually vote on the issue — is a crucial 2020 question. But some recent polls suggest White Americans may not be as supportive of the Black Lives Matter movement as they were earlier this summer.

There has been limited polling on this in recent weeks, and none publicly released covering the period since the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wis., last weekend. But what we did see before then suggests the spikes we saw in favor of Black Lives Matter protesters following the police killing George Floyd in Minneapolis had subsided.

While polls after Floyd’s death show big increases in support for Black Lives Matter and a belief in systemic racism in American law enforcement, recent polls suggest things returning closer to the mean.

Perhaps most striking was, coincidentally, a poll in Wisconsin. The Marquette University Law School poll in mid-June showed residents supported the Black Lives Matter movement by a 61 percent to 38 percent margin. But by earlier this month, those numbers had evened out — 48-48.

The reason: White Wisconsinites.

I can't possibly imagine why?

Assuming there was actual support in the first place. If there was, it wouldn’t have to be pushed so hard.

The Establishment is also discovering that putting toothpaste back in the tube isn’t as easy as squeezing it all out at once.

I am still furious with the American people who support BLM and the Dems in their total evil. They are lazy if they only sit with a beer can in hand and “learn” from CNN and MSNBC. What lazy fools!

If they think “Black Lives Matter” the Marxist revolutionary organization—— (not the sentiment informally)—— is like what Dr. Martin Luther King and the old Dems like JFK stood for: “helping minorities” “the little guy” and “stopping violence against black people:-—then they are stupid.

I’ve said it before but it bears repeating. Training a puppy on pages from the Washington Post is a grievous insult to dog sh*t.

“...the idea that Americans will find the scenes of unrest” unrest = full-blown riots and looting.

“Despite all of it occurring on his watch...”, also on the ‘watch’ of democrat governors, mayors, prosecutors. When Trump has offered help, they have refused and denounced his efforts to stop the violence.

Law enforcement is a local issue in our form of government.

There was never that kind of support for it, people just said so when polled to look good or too afraid in todays culture.

What makes me sick is all the American hating corporations who ran to throw money at these rioters under the lie of BLM.

The WaPo really wants to blame POTUS for democrates allowing thugs tear up their cities for weeks on end and refusing federal help?
These riots lay at the feet of the left and democrats.

Stupid, yes. These are the folks targeted by MSM with the narrative that the violence and mayhem that is occurring is Trump’s fault in spite of the fact that the violence and mayhem are caused by Trump’s opponents.

The Establishment are starting to realize they overplayed their hand.

If you vote for us we will lock this country so tight nothing will move. So long as you don't we're burning the place down.

Hey, it's a strategy.

Trump’s failing was that he didn’t take the bait and declare nationwide martial law. He is a fascist dictator at heart. You know it. I know it. And the Washington Post knows it. Drats....Foiled Again.

“The WaPo really wants to blame POTUS...”

What you are seeing there are the best talking points these Democrat weasels could come up with after the mess they’ve made. You will hear them over and over again in the weeks ahead from the Propaganda media and from Biden whenever he can read the teleprompter coherently:

“The violence happened on Trump’s watch.” “Trump’s divisive rhetoric created the climate for this destruction.” “It’s time for the healing only the Democrats and Joe Biden can bring.” etc etc

The word “healing” must have tested particularly well in the focus groups, I’m hearing it from these a-holes constantly.

Rush called it back when Democrats won the house election. He said the Dems always overplay their hand.

Trump doesn't play by the old go along to get along rules. He plays of keeps.

they can try but it won’t work. POTUS just needs to point out he offered help to stop them and the governors refused, and these are left ran cities from top to bottom for decades, including the police Chiefs.

The Establishment are starting to realize they overplayed their hand.

Now they will pivot to non-stop COVID. The Dems believe if they can make the election about corona virus, they'll benefit. Except America is getting tired of the lockdowns, the masks, the school closures, and everything else and a few of them are starting to detect a whiff of bullsh*t in the air that perhaps, just perhaps, we were lied to about the danger of CV-19.
