Personally, I hope he gets a good lawyer, not one of these go-along, get-along hacks that is in the same club as the judge, and plays golf with the DA. Flynn got so scr#wed by the Covington firm. I don't think Michael Cohen's lawyers did him any favors, either.
I hope and pray they'll be able to help him.

The shooting did not happen at 5821 Sheridan, that building does not match the background of videos which show the first gunfire. Compare the street view of 5821 Sheridan to the background of, for example, this video.
5912 Sheridan is an auto repair shop. There were a number of young men there defending it, including a couple posted on the roof. There are also a number of times where armed young men defended the adjacent gas station on both nights of the riot.
He is apparently from Antioch Illinois which is a small town near Kenosha. If you wanted to go to a Target to go shopping you would probably drive to Kenosha. Kenosha is about 14 miles from Antioch.
Many people who live in Antioch commute to work in Kenosha or other towns in the area.
By contrast a number of the protestors came from Chicago, and even Portland Oregon.

I read that Rittenhouse got separated from the group he was with by the police, who would not let him return to the group he was with earlier.
I don't think everything the author says is correct, but I did see the police giving water to the young men guarding the gas station and the auto repair facility next door at 5912 Sheridan earlier in the evening in a live stream.
And it makes sense that Rittenhouse would obey a police order to not return to the area. That is how he got cut off. Sadly the police seem to have caused a lot of the problem by not maintaining order in the first place and then separating people trying to protect property from each other.
Once the mob started after Rittenhouse he didn't have a choice but to defend himself.

Nope. I downloaded a copy of the docket: Discovery was scheduled for March 2021 at that time (about a month ago). Unless they moved the trial up and I missed that, it’s out of the news cycle for awhile.

If he was invited to be present and armed, on private property in most states he is not in violation of any law. Maybe in WS.
The fact that he had to run notwithstanding he, as well as anyone of any age, retains the natural and civil right to life liberty and pursuit of happiness.
