While flipping around after the RNC last night I caught this exchange between Cuomo and Lemon. You are correct, they see polling. But if you listen, they’re saying the folks that want police are just too stupid to know what’s good for them. “The rioting is just a symptom”. It just needs to stop long enough to win the election, it can go on AFTER they win.

They wanted to bait president trump into an ohio state incident. Then they would have had everyone from Jimmy Page to Bette Midler coming out on stage with neil young to say four dead in _fill in location here_ trying to recreate a woodstock anti-thing festival.

It's a thing of beauty, too. They wanted Trump to overstep by sending in federal troops eventuating in :
1) the ending of violence , restoring peace and tranquility to this wonderful city with such a wise mayor,
and 2) the ability to charge Trump with gestapo tactics.
Now, they don't dare invite troops in, and their cities crumble along with their future political ambitions, while DjT's and law abiding Rs benefit.

Oh, absolutely. I’m sure they have visions of “Kent State” the sequel on their minds and were salivating on they would lay all the broken bodies at Trump’s feet. That’s not working and the polling shows the riots are hurting Biden and the Dems, so they want them to stop.
The problem (for them) is I don’t think they will. When the Deep State globalists that lead America’s left unleashed Antifa/BLM, I am sure they thought they had control and could whip them back into their kennels when they had served their purpose, but there have been plenty of times in history where a movement has outgrown control and turned on its creators.
The MSM and Dem leadership (redundant, I know) can plead all they want for the Antifa geeks to return to Mommy’s basement, but it won’t happen. They’re having too much fun.
I admire the way Trump has been able to navigate those traps they have laid out for him.
