Lordy, I checked the zone forecasts for the area around the projected landfall area and they were saying the heat indices could reach 100 degrees. I find that almost impossible, given my college coursework and NWS spotter training in meteorology. I can't even wrap my head around the thermo, atmospheric, and hydrodynamics of what it would take to support the two conditions simultaneously. Can you imagine a triple digit heat index and 110 MPH+ sustained winds? It would be like being thrown into a convection oven. It truly is unsurvivable conditions if you stay.
