“Best” case is a hit east of Lake Charles

Thanks for that image! I love things like that!!

Wonder what that diagonal line/ridge -- running diagonally across the eye and up the eyewall -- is...?

If folks use their noggins and evacuate, there won’t be any bodies floating.

Well, not victims of the storm, anyway.

And, yeesh, does that bring back some unpleasant memories.

I hope both states have done a good job of evacuating any residential care facilities in the path....

Haven’t heard beans about plans for the elderly who need assistance.

Yowza!

I will say though, it’s a darn good thing apparently it will miss Houston, that would have been devastating, with such a large population.

Basically EF4-tornado scale wind gusts in Lake Charles with sustained EF3 wind. For hours, not just a minute or two.

Storm looks to be taking the northern turn towards the pole.

It’s that wobbling “biting the nails” time. Hopefully everyone in the coastal area and marshes got out of town. As you pointed out, the topography of location + strength/size of storm = a 30 mile storm surge. Pray everyone got out of there.
