He’s a LAWYER / ATTORNEY / SOLICITOR / BARRISTER.
He is not a “spiritual leader” (MINISTER / PASTOR / PRIEST / PREACHER).
Lol. You’re slip is showing. Whatever hatred or bitterness you’ve allowed has led to you making irrational statements like this, making a fool out of yourself in public. He’s not even a preacher or a minister. I couldn’t care less about the Falwells so this isn’t me defending them. It’s me pointing out what a foolish statement you made.

Some people are so full of bile it spills out and they make fools out of themselves. There’s at least two on this thread. Watch, now they will accuse us of defending Falwell.
I read though 60+ comments and there wasn’t even a picture of the pool. I feel robbed!
I finally read the article, and the man in question has already spoken up; apparently, they have been dealing with him for quite some time over the idea of extortion. As for Dr. and Mrs. Falwell, there is a certain culture that comes with money, in which other forms of “prosperity” and licence seem to entangle people. Some former Christian greats seemed to avoid it, like Billy Graham, living in the same house, instead of building mansions, etc., having the ability to exercise self control, and so on. But their offspring haven’t done so well in that direction. They’ve never gone without, and their parents indulged them too much. I don’t know if that’s what happened to Dr. and Mrs. Falwell, but I know it’s common in his generation.

The rumor has been it was Junior & the pool boy. I pretty much igonored it as another sick Democrat fantasy but potentially there is something to it. This seems like a deflection here.

Yeah; you’re right. The bile-filled people you mention are probably the first one to spew out the “Judge not, that ye be not judged” verse on other threads.
I’m not defending Falwell; I don’t even know if he did anything that requires defending. He stupidly posted a photo online in which he may, or may not, have been holding ICED TEA, standing next to a FEMALE who may, or may not, have been his wife’s assistant. (If horribly sinful or offensive, HE himself would not have posted it, IMHO.)
And if his wife went off the deep end, it happens and it impacts families. Men aren’t the only ones who cheat and break up families.

The problem word is "work." He was handed a gravy "position" from "daddy's" efforts. She was a stereotypical bored executive's wife with too much time on her hands and an average (read that as "boring") marriage.
She thought that by summoning her "inner whore" she could find validation that she's still beautiful, desirable, attractive, sensual.......... Everything Hollywood tells her she's entitled to have.

I’m sick of women and contraception being blamed. It’s simply blame shifting for people’s own bad personal decisions.
And contraception did not create the evil of adultery. Sin is conceived in the heart long before it given birth in the actions. If contraception is involved at all, it’s more of a symptom of what was already in men’s and women’s hearts than the cause of it.
He came out with this because his business partner was trying to blackmail him with it.
Interesting how so many of us knew something was amiss when that picture of him with that woman surfaced.
And we were castigated.

Yes indeed. It’s a big status symbol with the wealthy. One of my best friends in college worked his way through school as a pool boy for a wealthy family in Oklahoma City. He took care of their indoor and outdoor pools and did other work around their mansion. They paid him very well along with giving him a very nice apartment above their multi-car garage.
