Arizona residents received $300 boosts in their unemployment checks this week, the first to receive payouts from President Donald Trump’s executive measure to enhance jobless benefits.
About 400,000 Arizonans collected a total of $201 million in benefits as of Thursday, including the beginning of retroactive payments for the weeks ending August 1 and August 8, according to the state’s Department of Economic Security.
Some 21 states have applied for lost wages assistance grants, and at least 14 have been approved so far, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, which is administering the program. In addition to Arizona, they include Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah.
Trump announced on August 8 that he would redirect $44 billion in federal disaster aid to provide the jobless with $300 a week if states put up an additional $100. After cash-strapped states complained, the Department of Labor said they could count their existing unemployment payments toward the required match.
At least two states, Kentucky and Montana, said they would add $100 to the federal enhancement, for a total of $400 a week.

Part of it, I have already spent in my mind. The other part, I’ll save. I used to call the savings my Rainy Day Fund, but to paraphrase an old song: “It Never Rains in Northern California”.
Hubby and I saved the first $2400. We never speak of it because the car or air conditioner may hear about “extra money.”

If only we could get some God in them! Well God doesn’t need us to do that for Him.
But they close their souls and their hearts very tightly and don’t seem to want God.

And if you see my posts you know I hit back pretty hard sometimes when I see what just seems like hate and not a real discourse on an important subject about NY.
I would NEVER say fence off an area of TX or FL or any other state...yet more than some here, I really believe, would have sacrificed even children’s lives in NYC more out of sheer hatred of NYC than anything.
And that hurts.
To be fair, when the deaths started dropping, many here said Praise God and Thank God. That made me feel very good.

But that has changed and de blasio and cuomo should be charged with attempted murder of NY and NYC.
