State Health Commissioner Dr. Norman Oliver told 8News on Friday that he plans to mandate coronavirus vaccinations for Virginians once one is made available to the public.
Virginia state law gives the Commissioner of Health the authority to mandate immediate immunizations during a public health crisis if a vaccine is available. Health officials say an immunization could be released as early as 2021.
Dr. Oliver says that, as long as he is still the Health Commissioner, he intends to mandate the coronavirus vaccine.
“It is killing people now, we don’t have a treatment for it and if we develop a vaccine that can prevent it from spreading in the community we will save hundreds and hundreds of lives,” Oliver said.
Under state law, only people with a medical exemption could refuse the mandate.

I could see them just taking a saline injection to say they did it and waiting themselves while they treat themselves with HCQ etc.

You make a great point.
They are virtually ignoring any and all other potential treatments and focusing only on the vaccine.
That alone makes me suspicious.
If they had put as much effort into studying the HCQ and other promising covid treatments, we’d have a safe, effective one now and the lockdown would be over.
But that would not serve the political purposes of those who want to be our overlords.

I think 100% of the states will do this. There is solid SCOTUS precedent, and states have been moving to no-opt-out mandatory vaccines for years.

If a vaccine makes it through phase 1, phase 2, and phase 3 clinical trials, it has been extremely well tested for safety and efficacy. We know just what the risks are (i.e. side effects) and what the rewards are (i.e. high likely it is to protect you from SARS-CoV-2 infection.) After that, it is up to each individual to make their own decision about what is best for their own personal health and wellbeing.
