Thank you. I am sorry for the curt reply but I seriously don’t see any upside of our President calling for a boycott of any publicly held and traded manufacturer. I haven’t been able to find the number of stockholders but I am sure it is plenty and along with Goodyear’s 62,000 employees there is more than likely a large portion of them who support(ed) Mr. Trump.

The only point I was trying to make is that from time to time the Presidents rush to attack has more negative unintended consequences than positive.

The Republic is in a fight for it’s very life and forays like this into striking back at some HR jerk employee and manager is ... well lets say I don’t believe it was not well thought out and totally unnecessary.

But hell who am I? Just some mid 70 year old man way out here in the bleacher seats.

Be well.

I think this is Goodyear's spokesperson.

Trump’s supporters were being attacked. His supporters in the GY company were basically being told comply or be fired and you must support whatever immorality the company actively supports. Trump was trying to support his supporters’ civil and moral rights in the company....and if GY wants to act anti-american in their policies the why should he reward them with Government contracts? Cooper tires are American made and some foreign businesses make their tires here thus employing Americans. There are American alternatives.

GY’s non-apology apology at least shows that they know they have cooked their own goose. I can believe that the diversity training” slide” didn’t originate from and wasn’t necessarily authorised by the GY high command. It might be more of a case of the Higher ups trusting too much in its HR department to ensure that GY’s diversity and racial hiring bonafides were on the up and up and discovering to their horror that the company’s HR dept. had started a fire that might burn the company down.

Something like that was starting to happen at the Red Bull USA HQ but the wily Austrian owner and Trump supporter caught wind of it and canned the CEO and the Hr Diversity officer and the whole front office and its publicity sections are undergoing a major overhaul. The owner/ top ceo didn’t want another Gillette debacle to happen to his company.

Nope. The negative unintended consequences come when he tweets that he's going to do something but fails to follow through (I'm declaring ANTIFA a domestic terrorist group, etc.)
