How about waiting until the tires need replacing to switch brands rather than waste taxpayer money on what might be perfectly fine tires? Okay, you get the dumbass remark of the day prize.

Boy you just gotta admire the way the President of the United States of Amreica is in charge of everything, including what tires go on his Limo.
Sigh!

Good for him! I replaced Goodyears with Michelins on the one vehicle I had them on! Goodyears are terrible! Rush had a guy from Akron on, where Goodyears made, and he thought the President should back off his call for a boycott because Goodyear is the only tire mfgd in the U.S. I wanted to reach through the radio and throttle the guy.
I dont think Rush was aware of what Goodyear had put out to its employees.

I think the Pres should have an auction of the tires and raise money for a worthy cause or charity of his choosing. Bet that would raise some serious cash and be fun to watch the bidding.

Oh I am sure the President thought of all the little people who depend on Goodyear and then decided his displeasure with the company trumps all (no pun intended).

How about not? I don't care about $2000 on a new set of whatever exotic tires the presidential car needs. We are spending trillions on stimulus packages which are needed solely because of government shutdowns. Mentioning the cost of a set of tires when it comes to government waste is like mentioning a fleabite when we're halfway down the lion's throat.

Per my experience, Michelin tires are far superior to Good Year tires.

While I doubt it is illegal, it, just in my humble opinion, shows a certain disregard for the people that depend on Goodyear for a living in these trying times. Also his jump to strike back at a publicly traded company put a hurt on their investors and stock holders.
I will still show up and vote against every Democrat on the ticket, but to be honest things like this work towards diminishing my enthusiasm about voting “for” him again.
