President Donald Trump lashed out at automotive giant Goodyear after the company reportedly announced a “zero tolerance” policy for MAGA gear.

“Don’t buy GOODYEAR TIRES – They announced a BAN ON MAGA HATS. Get better tires for far less! (This is what the Radical Left Democrats do. Two can play the same game, and we have to start playing it now!),” Trump tweeted Wednesday morning.

The president was responding to reports that circulated after a leaked training slide showed Goodyear’s “zero tolerance policy” — which apparently applied to any show of support for Blue Lives Matter, All Lives Matter or President Trump’s “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) slogan.

According to that same policy, support for LGBTQ issues and the Black Lives Matter movement were reportedly acceptable in the workplace.

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company did not respond directly to questions from Topeka’s WIBW about the leaked slide, but spokesperson Melissa Monaco released a general statement on diversity in the workplace...

Here’s another one that really turns me off: when some business says that if you buy from them, they’ll donate some $$ or product to a pet charity/cause of theirs. ?? NO. How about I’ll decide where to donate MY money. If they have priced their products to allow them to donate to their designated causes, then I know I need to keep looking for another vendor.

I assume its some kind of unchanging and uneconomic bureaucracy, because in such organizations, I have found that conformity and group-think are highly important, even paramount goals.

Even if one wanted to remain neutral or didn’t care, the average person would be, purely through immediate social-pressure, to believe some or all of their group-think. After all, how can so many people be wrong?

I’ve had good luck with Coopers. Replaced the ones on my Cobalt with a new set, got over 80k on the old set, and their not that expensive as decent quality tires go.

They also don’t think all these issues are political. They see them as black-and-white (not referring to race) issues of intellectual superiority.

I am glad that you take a position to defend Trump. It is sad, but many of us wouldn’t take that risk, especially at work. You have accurately identified that they are naïve in their beliefs, and have no idea of the dishonesty being dealt to them.

If we were only up against the liberals/Democrats, we would have a better chance, but with the MSM firmly in their court, we have such enormous challenges.

Goodyear’s statement in response was pretty smart.

Not really. They are trying to mislead everyone into thinking they aren't discriminating based on race and creating a hostile work environment by their ban on some kinds of racial equity messages but not others.

It isn't just MAGA hats that are banned. You can say "Black Lives Matter" but you can't say "All Lives Matter".

Goodyear's Twitter statement keeps digging. How is "All Lives Matter" not a statement in the area of "racial justice and equity issues" even if some people don't like to hear it?

A guess for another source for classic tire size and styling is Firestone. Get their corporate toll free telephone number from their website and call it up. Simply ask for customer service. It’s that easy. Heck, the local Firestone branded tire store may know the answer although if they were to say no to availability, l would still go the corporate route above. A quick call to Tire Rack could lead to them doing a special order for a tire that would meet your goal.

Goodyear, Firestone and BFG were the big dog companies for muscle car tires. A 71 Buick GS sure is sweet. My favorite GMs were the 67-69 GTOs and 68 Olds 442. I almost had my father buying me a 68 Shelby 350 luxed out with options but unfortunately he wanted to drive it first. I ended up with a fastback 67 Barracuda.

I’m still thinking about this.... Another source of info would be to contact a car collector person or a company specializing in muscle car restoration. Hey! Call Danny Counts in Las Vegas! Say hi to him for me too! Lol...

Okay.... Just did a bit of searching for you on www.duckduckgo.com using “classic tire” keywords. 2 minutes searching and 5 minutes on the website below looks promising for talking with some specialists. Heads up that you could end up with the P-metric equivalent to the G70. Also, consider a redline tire as an alternative to the white letter.

No, it’s not that simple. I am semi-retired financial executive. I still do consulting, but I also have several other careers and interests. I play keyboards in a cover band, I do 3D engineering renderings and commercial art. I play league pool. I find these deluded Democrats in all walks of life.

Even my own extended family.

The CEO is Rich Kramer, he is a world class tool that came from an auditing firm that basically came in and raped the organization under his leadership.
