Bummer in a way.
There is good little facility a brief walk away and they have always done well by us.
That's been our experience. Sadly, Goodyear ended up on most of our new vehicle purchases over the years. We always went with more other manufacturer when it was time to get new tires. We're currently dealing with a 5 year-old set on a SUV we purchased new, with only 29,000 miles on them.
Despite that and the fact that Goodyear's service department says they still have plenty of tread remaining, I find myself spinning tires from a stop on a green light or fishtailing around a corner. They will be replaced early this Fall before the weather gets worse.
Yep, I’ll stick to imports, rather than union-made tires (at least until our unions start supporting this country).
Yeah. I run Hankooks.
I would show up wearing an “All Lives Matter” shirt and have my lawyer on hold...
Well, Just what the Heck color are tires, anyway????
Such a travesty should immediately be met by: What about All Black Lives Matter.
This question is followed by: What about all the black lives taken by blacks, which is thousands more than black lives taken by Police.
What about the black babies murdered in the womb? Don’t their lives matter?
One issue with that is that until recently only Goodyear offers police tires that don’t pop when you drive over a curb at speed, mostly their RS-A line. Fortunately, Michelin’s BFGoodrich brand has recently started making competing offerings: https://www.rubbernews.com/article/20180814/NEWS/180819976/bfgoodrich-adapts-advantage-g-force-tires-for-police-vehicles
However, their RS-As are pretty crap otherwise (former P71 owner here) so departments will have to figure out what they want to do.
Some of the “import” brands’ tires are made in the US, just FYI.
Er, *Goodyear’s* RS-As are kind of crap at everything else except not popping when driving over curbs. I don’t know how good or bad the BFG offerings are in the real world.
True about the French. They staged gigantic demonstrations against queer politics a few years ago. Same word from some people from France, who were members of U.S. servicemen’s families.
Black Tires Matter
Maybe Bridgestone or Hankook, both being Korean, are the alternatives then. If American companies want to commit financial and market suicide (get woke, go broke) that’s their prerogative. Although the shareholders may not agree.
No, that's not paint, the rubber is actually colored.
Except BLM is political.
An organization promoting mental health and suicide prevention has shirts that say “your life matters”. Wonder how the lefties would react to that?
Of course..Who will give them grief over this????
Is White wall tires still allowed?
The last Goodyear products I liked were some Avon motorcycle tires. This came after a long period of not liking anything Goodyear made, and the Avons were probably only good because Goodyear bought the British company and left it mostly alone. However, Goodyear decided that they didn’t want to promote the line in the US any more and didn’t bother restocking as quickly. It wasn’t worth waiting two weeks to get a pair from their remaining distribution warehouses the last time my bike needed a set, so I bought Bridgestones instead. Not bad, but next time I’m just going to buy Michelin Pilot 5s. (Motorcycles go through sticky tires quickly.)
No. Not because of any racial thing but because they’re really damn ugly. I have no idea why people thought that was a good look on any post-war car.
More whites, males, and heterosexuals are fighting back. You just need to hit these companies where it hurts.
