It worked? Guess not.
Wow - they had 30 cases.....a disaster in the making.....
What Went Wrong?
They elected communists.
That’s what went wrong.
Uh, Prime Minister Jacinda Arden? THAT is what’s wrong.
RE: It worked? Guess not.
It worked as long as New Zealand sealed herself from the rest of the world. As soon as overseas travel starts, that’s where the problem will occur ( and it did ).
You cannot isolate yourself permanently.
Lockdowns are like paying off debt with a credit card. Eventually the wolf is going to darken your door...
did anyone accuse the pretty socialist chick of tyranny for the perfectly reasonable suggestion to delay the election a bit until sanity could more tangibly take hold?
it would beat the hell out of 100% mail in election.
The Swedes look better and better.
Viruses are going doing what viruses always do. There’s no stopping them until a vaccine is available. And that’s a big IF.
They had their fingers crossed so its OK.
Can’t they simply outlaw the virus like they outlawed guns? Just decree that the virus is gone. Isn’t that how things magically work in a progressive country?
All they are doing is re enforcing the idea that the government can lock the country down anytime and the people have no choice but to bow down and obey.
The virus got too many votes?

It is impossible to beat a virus by locking down.
Reality check: Some folks get sick. Some folks dont. Some folks get over it. Some folks dont. Immune systems take over to cure and/or protect. This has been known in the past as Survival of the Fittest. P.S. Its not nice to mess with Mother Nature.
When you delay an election for a seemingly legitimate reason like an epidemic, the precedent is set for delaying elections for less legitimate reasons. Next thing you know, elections are delayed until PM and parliament can guarantee they will be re-elected.
Hyperbole? Maybe, but in today’s environment I’m not so sure.
Same here in the good ol USA.
