Apart from God there is no such thing as an objective morality. What she’s really saying is they should drug us to make us more docile.

For example, oxytocin, the chemical that, among other things, can induce labor or increase the bond between mother and child, may cause a person to be more empathetic and altruistic, more giving and generous.

This writer is insane. Oxytocin is one of the most addictive opioids out there. Addictive to the point where pharmacies have notices posted that no Oxy is on premise to avoid addict from robbing the pharmacies to get a fix.

Maybe when Obama said “eat your peas” he was referring to more than just peas.

You have oxytocin confused with oxycontin.

The latter is a highly addictive opioid.
Oxytocin is a natural hormone produced by the body.
It’s what provides the warm feelings of attachment
when one falls in love among other things.

“Morality” pills?

If it makes you more “moral” will it make you want to stop supporting abortion?

Or make people stop rioting, looting and murdering?

Mandrake, have you never wondered why I drink only distilled water, or rain water, and only pure-grain alcohol?

...the solution is to take pills that make you want to wear a mask.

Did I just read that???

You did.

And in the 1st graf: ‘...the problem of corona virus defectors...”

‘Deniers’ must not be focus-grouping well. People can say they accept there is a virus, but disagree with the handling.

But ‘defectors’ implies there is some global coronovirus movement. Could be illiteracy, which is rampant. Could be a Freudian slip.

Whichever, it is othering. And you know where that leads.

Is it possible that what we see as these crazy big blue cities is really a side-effect of an over medicated society?

"Behavioral sink" Experiments decades ago on overcrowded rat colonies. Overcrowding led to a breakdown of social norms -- even rats have social norms. These days, maybe overmedicated overcrowded rats.

Ethics is to morality what manners is morality ... systems for regulating behavior that can be learned by rote. But if the morality they are rooted in is deficient then they will be too.

Both ethics and manners have value, but they are a proverbial veneer.

Consider: twits in AntiFa think they are behaving properly because their ethics are rooted in an ideology that tells them they are right. That ideology has replaced morality in their lives.

I noticed that as well. The author talks about oxytocin as if it were something akin to a soothing song. Oxytocin might cause the user “to be more empathetic and altruistic, more giving and generous.”

So the writer is either insane or some sort of foreign agent. I can’t think of any other possiblity.

THIS is a hill to die on. Wars have been fought over much less. Forced tranquilization is no “morality pill”, it’s immoral, demonic, the ultimate attack on freedom. I will resist this with my last breath. My family, my community, my state will not submit to this. This will be resisted with DEADLY FORCE, as is our right.

The other possibility is that you have your Oxy’s mixed up.

It will be the new “flouride” added to our water for our own good.

A lot less messy than lobotomies.

Ha! I did too. So there’s a third possibility in my post #35. The author is either insane or a foreign agent. Or I got confused. I blame that last possibility on the pharmaceutical industry for coming up with all those sound-alike names.

:)
