6 arrested after George Washington statue toppled, vandalized near L.A. City Hall: LAPD [Update from the 14th/Arrestees Identified]

After the statue was brought down, those involved hid nearby to change their clothes, but they were then arrested by LAPD officers in the area of Spring and Temple streets, according to the news release.

Those arrested are 20-year-old Elizabeth Brookey of Burbank; 28-year-old Anna Asher and 30-year-old Barham Lashley, both of North Hollywood; 22-year-old Andrew Johnson of Glendale; and 23-year-old Emma Juncosa and 33-year-old Christopher Woodard, both of Los Angeles.

The department said they found a gas mask, laser pointer, helmet, goggles and arm protectors in the belongings of those arrested.

All six were booked on $20,000 bail, according to county inmate records.

The life-size bronze statue of the first U.S. president dressed in a Revolutionary War military uniform is one of 30 bronze copies of the original 1796 sculpture by the French artist Jean-Antoine Houdon. The original stands in the Virginia State Capitol in Richmond, according to the L.A. Department of Arts and Culture.

The one that stood in Grand Park was bought by the Women’s Community Service and presented to L.A. County in 1933.

I think not, but we will see. The fact that they are this deep into it gives me hope that is not the case. If it were local charges they would have been let go without any charges. But since they are federal charges is why I have high hopes. 8>)

Being exposed to Laser beam contact with the eye may cause later vision problems.
The use of lasers, by the terrorists involved in the recent actions, is not to be trifled about. Causing damage to any of the senses is criminal.
I would suggest the punishment be: 1. Lasers to both eyes. 2. Extreme noise exposure to the ears. 3. Cutting the fingers off to take away the sense of touch.

If they do not have the money to pay for all costs (including ancillary, legal and other costs), they may be forced into servitude (labor) of a type and duration that would satisfy justice and extinguish the debt. This is righteous. Righteousness exalts a nation. Justice deferred destroys the morals of a nation. These obnoxious children must be forced to pay for their crimes. Not one dime should come out of the pockets of citizen taxpayers who had nothing to do with the crime.

For a number of them, their recent TV/film credits are on IMDB. Johnson co-owns his own independent production company called Unfiltered Entertainment, which IMDB incorrectly names as Unfiltered Productions. Based on their job descriptions and credits, most of the others are probably working for production companies, probably as contractors rather than regular employees. For instance, one of Asher's online profiles says she's looking for work and her work is entirely digital.

The statue is very significant because the head was done from a life mask. It therefore shows what Washington really looked like..

You are right. Federal charges ARE tougher and cannot be dismissed so easily. Good point.
