Chicago Police Seek Federal Prosecutions For Looters, Rioters

Following the destruction and looting of the Magnificent Mile in Chicago, there’s been a curious lack of interest in prosecuting the offenders on the part of the Cook County State’s Attorney. That would be Kim Foxx, who many of you are likely familiar with from her involvement in the Jussie Smollett fiasco. With few signs that her office is taking the charges seriously or has any intention of holding many of the rioters accountable,

the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police sent a letter to U.S. Attorney John R. Lausch Jr. to request prosecution of the rioters on federal charges. But even assuming that the U.S. Attorney’s office has the resources to handle all of these cases, it’s not yet clear precisely what federal charges would be applicable. (CBS Chicago)

Chicago Fraternal Order of Police President John Catanzara issued a letter to U.S. Attorney John R. Lausch Jr. Wednesday, calling for federal prosecutions for people arrested in looting during civil unrest.

In the letter, which the FOP said would be hand-delivered Thursday morning, Catanzara accused Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx of failing to take action against such defendants at the state level.

Catanzara noted that Chicago Police officers who belong to the FOP were on the front lines during civil unrest and looting back in late May, as well as early this past Monday morning.

In their letter, the FOP noted that Foxx’s office has instituted a ‘presumption of dismissal’ for all but the most serious violent crimes, opting not to prosecute the vast majority of them. Given the danger that the Chicago PD faced, having bricks and bottles hurled at them as they attempted to protect the business district, Catanzara claims that the feds need to step in and send a serious message to the rioters.

Lausch? Isn't he the one who slow walked document requests for Rosenstein and the Deep State.

I surmise more democrat cowardice. Beatlejuice and her political crew will likely face political fallout if they do their jobs and uphold the laws they swore an oath to enforce and defend. Just let a bunch of no name Feds take care of the rioters. Maybe Barr will deny the request.

Y’know, when this stuff spills out to us in the suburbs, I’m going to chide you for that.

My transplant hospital is downtown, so if I ever have to go back there while this is happening, I can’t. It’s not safe, and I won’t put my family through it either. Major hospitals are there, including Lurie’s Children’s, and their callousness in dealing with he violence has put all of the patients and staff at risk, not to mention their families.

Yeah. I guarantee you, the average person in the city is hating this, and most of the looters are opportunists from within the entirety of the state; probably St. Louis. Most Chicagoans have a certain level of pride in their city, and you don’t hear a whole lot about rioting in East St. Louis, do you?

Of course locals are taking part too, but they are likely criminals already. We’ve had these problems for decades, and nobody wants to deal with it. This is what you get with lax administrations and no consequences.

Until Chicago voters realize living in a one party city is a bad idea, they need to continue to bend over and grab their ankles cuz you are screwed.

LOL

I was speaking about the cops and city councils and mayors

We have the shit here in Bay Area

Many times in the last six months I felt like chucking it and moving back to Oklahoma but, we have cities like those in that great state and I’ll be moving next year about an hour south of the Bay Area where everyone reloads, loves God , their wives, their children and respects their mother...

These guys are not even believable.

These guys can indict a ham sandwich, if they want to.

These guys can not indict Hillary, if they want to.

Many of these criminals in Cook County Jail should be back in Federal Prison for Parole violations. But Foxx will not cooperate with the Feds and turn the bad guys over.

The Feds will identify Parole Violators and by the time they get to Cook County Jail - Foxx and Sheriff Tom [worthless] Dart have released them.

Last week, the US Marshalls had to go in Ashburn [Southside war zone] - 79th and Ashland, to arrest a Federal Ex-con who violated his parole. Foxx is helping the criminals.
