Allow me: Early in "Deadpool" our antihero mercenary sees his name up on the betting board for those expected to die first (hence Deadpool) and becomes upset that his bartender friend has the most on his early demise. So he cynically adopts the game for his name.

I've always liked Reynolds because he has a quality most actors don't: Never Taking Himself Too Seriously. In an industry so dependent on illusion and self-delusion he seems to be one step ahead while having fun at the expense of the non-humorous who see acting as a solemn art.
