How many times have these businesses repaired their store fronts, restocked their stores, and had to hire or rehire employees? Add in the headache of inventory and insurance claims. That’s if they have insurance that will cover the damage. How many more times do you think they will do it before they say “I’m too old for this crap” and just go ahead and retire? Or say, “I’m young, I can start over in a law-abiding town” and just move?

Used to spend a week there every other year at a convention , NEVER again.

It was nice, did get lost once(DAMN GOOGLE MAPS) looking for a Thai place, wound up in a bad hood.

Walked maybe a block from where we had parked, only to find out they were shuttered.

But they treated us OK, besides a couple of dog head crooked looks.

Probably thought we were nuts and CCW.

That is what the voters want. That is what they voted for.

but the fatal blow was 1973, with Roe v. Wade: A society that will happily normalize and make legal the murder of the most innocent and helpless amongst it is capable of any atrocity, and will “not long endure.”

There were many then and many now who vehemently oppose the murder of innocent children. It was the ABCCBSCNNNBCNPRNYTIMES etc of the day that sold the lie that people wanted it.

The truth is that The People didn't want it which is why the sick Globalists pushed it unconstitutionally through the Judicial Branch and are worried about what happens when Satanist Ruth Bader Ginsburg drops dead and goes to her Judgement.

On a related note, think of how well they cover the truth of how illegal murdering children in the womb is in most parts of Mexico.

...trade show industry...
______________________________

Husband and I were talking about that the other day. We spent the 90s working the Fine Craft wholesale shows (Rosen Group & American Craft). Limited production handcraft wholesale to galleries, museums, boutiques. Buyers came in from all around the world.

Baltimore. New York City. Philly. Chicago. Minneapolis. Atlanta. Miami. Honolulu. Why would anyone spend thousands to go there and buy inventory or exhibit it? No restaurants. The hotels given over to bums. Crime. Riots. Mandates. The buyers are having virtual showings and the exhibitors are selling online, too.

Yet: I went to the show websites and all of them are simply listing the most recent shows as cancelled and taking applications for 2021. It’s like they are in denial.

I shudder to imagine any of those cities during the coming winter.

Not shedding any tears for the crooks in the unions, though. They just fleeced the exhibitors and most looked and acted like thugs even back then.

This has been an issue for the Magnificent Mile for at least 7 years.

Yes, a lot of Big Retail is/has been failing.

I go to a mall maybe ONCE a year - and that’s just because friends DRAG me there; I’m just there for the gossip and the lunch, LOL!

These riots and looting are speeding up the process.

I’m trying to find a listing of all the businesses that are fleeing Madistan, WO - or have been forcibly put OUT of business due to the summer rioting and/oer th Covid Sham-demic.

The Enemy Media here is being VERY tight-lipped about it.

And our Capitol Square and State Capitol Building remains boarded up like a War Zone and our dipshiite Governor (Evers, Douche) has taken down TWO Christmas trees that the Republicans have put up in the Rotunda - he says NO TO CHRISTMAS in any way, shape or form!

Grrrr!

If the biz is more than 50 employees, there should be record on the WARN act filing.

Thanks! The latest article I could find was 2 weeks old, and it was just the Chamber yammering that people NEED to shop local and support our small businesses.

Well, hard to do when things are locked down!

Wisconsin as a whole, 31,000+ layoffs since January 2020.

https://dwd.wisconsin.gov/dislocatedworker/warn/

That’s just the larger employers, though. Still can’t find anything on the small, independent stores, bars, restaurants, etc. Still looking!

Leisure & Hospitality hit hardest in Wisconsin, -26%, which makes sense:

You can look at every state at the link above.

My concern is that as more and more people flee Chicago and NYC, it will hasten the decline of the rest of the country. These “refugees” will not change their liberal values. With rare exception, they are incapable of identifying as conservative, in spite of all they are running away from. In the past, liberal and conservative both believed in America. This is no longer the case.
