Philadelphia officials, including the district attorney, are trying to pinpoint why the city is seeing a record number of shootings and homicides so far this year. The DA rejects any notion his policies are contributing to the surge.
With more than 1,100 people shot and 260 homicides in Philadelphia, District Attorney Larry Krasner points to the pandemic, poverty and systematic racism as reasons for the spike.
