Second highest per capita mortality after Belgium. Country doesn’t need to be shut down, it shuts itself down. Also thanks to their substandard socialized medicine, they have one of the highest case fatality rates at 46,628 / 312,789 or 15%. Ours is 3.2% and it’s currently about 4 times lower than it was in April. Our number is a reflection of our own de facto socialized medicine in NYC and is lower outside of there. Florida is 1.6%

Yeah, that was lame. How about privatizing and paying them properly if they perform and firing them if they don't.

SSDD

... bet that they are STILL auctioning girls at Gatwick
to Islamic murderers/rapists, with the usual
cut going to UK judges and the “royal” family.

Remember when the sun never set on the British Empire???

Decadence is ugly.

Back in the 1950s, my father's brother, a brilliant man, told me that some day the USA might go the way of the Roman Empire.

I considered this, thought it might well be true at some time in the remote future, but I couldn't imagine how it could actually come to pass. The American People would not allow it, I thought, and the USA, healthy and strong, could never become so weakened and sick.

Today I understand decadence all too well. All my questions about it have been answered.

Millions in America and in Britain are deathly sick with the disease of decadence.

America's great cities are hellholes, some burning, residents fleeing, crime ridden.

Americans cannot stop the flow of illegal immigrants and drugs into the USA.

Drug pushers prey on American children in their grammar schools, and the American People are helpless to stop it.

Corrupt politicians of the Democrat Party, the party of decadence, have staged a 4-year-long coup d'etat in an attempt to oust the President who prays to God for guidance, gives his salary to charity, and whose battle cry is "Make America Great!"

Rioters burn Bibles along with buildings and attack statues of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary.

The US Free Press, once the envy and gold standard of the world for truth and accuracy, has degenerated into a mendacious propaganda machine for corrupt politicians who exploit the decadence.

Truth is held in contempt.

Children are sexualised.

Decadence is all around us. Millions of Americans have succumbed to it like a horrifying plague.

Godless nations fall!

Only God can save America.

Pray for her salvation.

It will take years to recover. Friends in the UK are shocked to find shops permanently closed. Remember, they are not nearly as “Walmarted” as we are - many more small shops because their society isn’t as mobile as ours. The village grocer has generally survived, but many shops in town, in what they call arcades (malls), are out of business.

All for a virus with a 99.5% survival rate.

Goodness, some pretty strange generalisations there. 'Village grocers', far from surviving, have mostly died out from the 1980s onwards, unable to compete, especially on price, with the now ubiquitous out-of-town supermarkets. More recently, there has also been a decline in 'High Street' shopping, partly for the same reason, but also because of the rapid growth of home-delivered online retailers: especially for the low-volume niche markets which used to be catered for by small specialist shops.

As for closures due to the pandemic - sure, there are plenty, but it's far too early to say whether these will be permanent or replaced by enterprising new businesses. There are plenty who are confidently forecasting a V-shaped recovery, plenty others who aren't. It seems to me a mug's game to attempt any realistic forecasting, there's still so much to be played out before all this is over.
