FORT COLLINS, Colo. (KDVR) Fort Collins Police Chief Jeff Swodoba spent the weekend looking at viral videos of a dozen men brawling in a ditch about a block away from his stations headquarters.
These werent kids after a high school game that were just excited and getting into a fight, these are grown men you know getting in a fight, Chief Swoboda said. Its sad for the community. Sad for individuals who do that kind of stuff.
What started as a pro-police rally on Saturday got heated, as counter protestors and rally goers escalated conversations into confrontations.
The chief says there were aggressors on both sides.
You do see one group pushing another group, telling them to leave and they cant be there, well thats not their place, Swoboda said. Theyre not the arbiters of who can be there and who cant.
So far, three people have been arrested, and another cited for the incident, but the chief says more charges are coming after people came forward with information and video to help investigators in the case.
People showed up, they were looking for a fight. They show up with brass knuckles, knives, guns, fireworks, OC Spray, they got a Kevlar vest on, Swoboda said.
Multiple sources tell the Problem Solvers a counter protestor pepper sprayed a disabled veteran, which triggered the brawl. The chief confirms hearing those reports, but cant confirm thats exactly what happened.
The department is still investigating what triggered the scuffle.
The chief says safety for his officers was a top priority during the rally, and they responded as soon as they heard reports of the fight.
Standing with our backs to people who are armed, who are showing up to these events with bulletproof vests, its not safe to go in there and do that, Swoboda said.
Event organizers are planning another pro-police rally in Fort Collins this Friday. Swoboda hopes the focus is more on productive conversations between rally goers and protestors, which did take place last Saturday, before the fight broke out.
Simply putting on a t-shirt that says I support police, and then going out and breaking the laws and getting in fights, we dont want that kind of support, Swoboda said. We dont need it. Dont come.
The Fort Collins PD didn’t care when the scum from Antifa attacked the patriots but they sure got upset when decent people fought back.
Screw the Democrat-run police! Defund them if they won’t do their jobs!
>>>Typical thinking in the Socialist State of Colorado<<<
When I was a kid, the saying was “the only good Commie is a dead Commie.
Nowadays, “the only good Socialist is a dead Socialist” might end up being more timely.
After all, a Socialist is just a Communist who hasn’t Murdered anyone “yet”.
Socialists don’t give a crap about the suburbs where normal working people live. But let the demonstrators go downtown and set Old Town Ft. Collins on fire, or wall off Larimer Square in Denver and declare it a no cop zone and you’ll see even Colorado socialists get all excited once they can smell the smoke and stench from the balconies of their restored victorians where they sip their lattes.
“Ill take the one in the middle please.”
Be careful what you ask for. Most likely a Petri dish overflowing with STD’s and crazier than any ten men.
Kill a Commie for Mommy!
The Police are on your side. They will protect you to the last drop of their blood. Keep believing that. Believe it all the way to the jail house. To the prison. To the firing wall. According to the Police Chief’s statement, if someone or a lot of someones wishes to set up residence in your castle, you can’t say nay. Should one wish to have a backyard, or a front yard as far as that goes with invited guests and others invite themselves to partake and participate, one cannot deny them.
That’s what I was thinking. They do not look like productive Americans.
Fort Collins isn’t too bad when the students are gone, as they are now. Lots of conservative people in the surrounding area. Little ‘farm town’ Berthoud, 25 miles to the south of Fort Collins ran off antifa a couple of weeks ago. The Larimer County Sheriff’s Department on horseback, definitely encouraged the counter protestors to leave. Berthoud has no police department of its own, unlike Fort Collins.
Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)

“The chief says there were aggressors on both sides.”
Find that hard to believe.
Damned lowlife. They did nothing but expel antifa from their notorious and keep them away from their houses. Why? Because the police wont. Eff this tool, try to get a conviction sport. Try to convince a jury.
“Keep your mouths shut. Dont say a word to the cops.
Not one word.”
Universally good advice, in all possible situations.
Law enforcement is not the exclusive province of police.
“I don’t know why anybody at this point still believes cops are the good guys. “
It’s a damn mystery to me too.
I understand cops. They follow orders. The orders come from the politicians who give orders to the Chief of Police.
Right or wrong doesn't matter. Not following orders means you are fired and lose your pension.
Yup. The problem is, the 'government' has decided that anyone who attempts to police his neighborhood is a criminal, while the actual criminals are 'protesters'. I saw that vid yesterday. They should have beaten the antifaggots to bloody pulps. They fact that they could walk away indicates they were shown mercy they didn't deserve.

Well, that POS Denver Police Chief should be hanging his head in shame. Ordering his department to stand down when the violent Antifa thugs beat the pro-police demonstrators. Be a damn man, protect the citizens and take the political fallout. If that means getting fired, then so be it. Resign afterward you give the orders, take your pension and go on the news programs with details of the orders you received, sharing emails, phone calls, etc. But, I guess standing up for what is right is the job of a strong person. Maybe they should be defunded.
Not where I live. If that's the way it works where you live, you live in the wrong town.
They have crapped away a lot of goodwill obeying the fascists orders. Stories like this make me sick.
Yep... It's called "Doing the work that the cops refuse to do"...
